Could you explain what you mean? I don't remember about the flip, but 4S, 4T and 4Lz she jumped for the first time under the guidance of TT. What does Plushenko have to do with it? It wasn't some sudden breakthrough, it was a long planned road - all season 17-18 she tried to jump at least one quad, then in the 18th she jumped two quads, in season 18-19 she jumped three quads, at the beginning of season 19-20 she jumped four quads on JO.
He changed her jump technique. It became much quicker and snappier and her air position got tighter than it used to be after she moved to him and it looks like she has kept that technique after moving back to eteri.

Yes, I already realized that this is a local "statement of faith" :) I think this is nonsense, but I now understand what you meant, thank you for the answer.

No, it's a sign of a new program. (Many skaters have forgotten choreo and step sequences when they first get the program.) That's especially the case when bringing in a "new" "ultra-c" element.
Hmmm...not so sure.

It's not a secret that I never been on the Kostornaia train, she has always been overrated imo.

But I think that might make me a little bit more objective. Don't get me wrong, Kostornaia is a wonderful skater and I root for her. But what I saw today was not the Kostornaia with passion for figure skating...what I saw was someone being bored (and scared).

Of course I might be totally wrong and have the wrong impression. And I would love to if Kostornaia proves me wrong this season. We'll see what happens...

I like Anna and Alexandra new program FS. If I could choose some of the girls going to the Olympic. Anna and Alexandra make me cheering for them because I like their new program. Kamila is a great skater, but I don't like this bolero and I wonder why her team keep this program. Kamila have so much potential with other style of music why stiking with this bolero ?

The winner of the free skate for me was Anna and Alexandra. I really enjoy both performance and style of skating, both different and beautiful.

I really like the music of the final part of Sasha's program, which begins at the moment of landing of the last quad.
As a fan of Guy Ritchie's films, for me this melody is forever connected with a scene from "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", when Eddie loses a huge amount of money to "Hatchet" Harry at cards and gets up from the table in shock. And the audience (and Sasha's rivals) are in about the same shock, with their heads spinning after such an impressive multi-quads performance. I don't know if Daniel watched this movie and whether he meant it, but this is exactly how it affects me.(y)

I'm not a plushenko fan, if that's what you mean. I actually don't like the guy at all, just giving credit where it's due.
Let's be honest, the line has never passed on "like or dislike plushenko" :)
There is one club that when athletes leave it, many immediately begin to find progress with these athletes and plushenko is just another "they broke out of this mordor to him, and he teaches them Real Technique"
But to be honest, this has already been discussed so many times that it is simply not interesting to discuss it for the five hundredth time. I suggest we finish it.

I understand what you are saying and have seen that discussion here many times too. I don't support it either. I try to stay in the middle somewhere and just support the skaters :)

Hmm...to me it is not a relief. It is a sign of someone who isn't committed enough and has given up already.

I'm not sure disliking a skater makes you more objective than liking them would. Or even just considering them "overrated."

Anyway, definitely disagree that it's a sign that she "gave up." The program is new so mistakes are very normal at this stage, you think someone who gave up would then be able to execute a 3F+3T, a 3F+1Eu+3S and a 3Lz right after? If anything she recovered well and got back on track, despite the jumps being tight today.

To be fair Sofia did win the European championships in 2019.
Yeah, but it wasn't a good competition. That's not about what you win but how you and your opponents perform.

Europeans are not a good competition in ladies field and that year it was extremely bad...

The fair thing it was the best skating in her life.

Have to say all the stars are aligning for Alexandra favour. She has the best fs music even though she doesnt really perform to it. And when she lands all her quads, you can expect the judges giving her 70-75pcs. Sad but true. Kamila doesnt really have much of a pcs advantage then. Its disappointing she's repeating an already stale Bolero but its not like the judges are going to take notice of that.

Fair enough. We have to agree to disagree.

And I never said I disliked Kostornaia, on the contrary, I have always rooted for her. But some people seem to think she's the greatest skater ever, and that's the train I'm not boarding. That's why I called her overrated. When people say great skating skills, I just say great posture...for example.

And again, no one would be happier than me if she proves me wrong this season.

Huge congratulations on Sasha landing 5 quads it is an incredible athletic achievement. 👏 I absolutely love this FS and she has grown so much as a skater. Such a sweet and likeable young woman. I read that Lisa Tutk thought it was a cool program. It's so nice other skaters admire and respect each other.

Yes, wasn't it just wonderful! Finally! We see Sasha get through a program clean(-ish). I really really really really hope she got the confidence she needs from this performance and can deliver this program clean again.

My favorite programs today were Sasha, Anna and Maia.

Sasha definitely stole the show for me. Not just because of the quads but she sold the heck out of that program. This season's programs might become my favorite two Sasha programs ever. The music and mood just fit her perfectly and they're the right mix of unique and fun without feeling juniorish like some of her previous ones.

I really liked Anna's music and programs. They feel different and fresh for her but not too experimental to make them fall too far from her comfort zone. Will be better when she adds the quads back.

I thought Daniil did a very good job with the music cuts and choreo in Maiia's program. The music suits her and she was able to hit music accents very nicely. The quad combo looked good too.
This is a different Maiia from last season, she looks determined and more confident. It think she has what it takes to fight for an Olympic spot.

I was looking forward to Daria's program but I have to admit I didn't like it much. My problem is mainly with the vocals, to me the ultimate version of this song is Pavarotti's and it's the kind of music that gives chills, but this singer didn't do that for me.
Maybe it will grow on me after a few more performances but not sure right now.

Something similar happened with Aliona's program. I thought the music cuts weren't right. The music is supposed to build up to the fast part and here, instead of doing that, they cut straight to the fast part, then back to slow then back to fast while nothing exciting was happening at first?
Then we know Aliona forgot something but I'm not sure that would have made a big difference.
The program has potential but I do hope they adjust the music.

Liza T had a fun program. It's not my cup of tea but I think it will be a crowd pleaser.

Sofia S was much better than yesterday. Something about Christina Aguilera's singing makes her come alive, I guess. Her jumps are tiny and that's a big problem.

I didn't like Ksenia's program, I'm afraid. She didn't seem as confident as yesterday. Maybe the 4T threw her off a bit but I'm still happy she attempted it.

Same thing with Liza N, I liked her SP better.

Kamila is Kamila. This time she wasn't on but I don't worry about her. I think Bolero is going to end up being the right choice for her this season but she still has some work to do to skate it to it's full potential.

I have to say Anna performed the best out of everyone today. In just the switch from the first piece of music to The Master and Margarita she gave more face than anyone else.

But Sasha was the absolute star of the free skate, she just destroyed everyone else.

Overall my favorite new program is Kseniia's short - it's just so lovely and an absolute masterpiece even this early in the season.

A little bit sad that it feels like both of Daria's programs were complete afterthoughts this year. Both music choices really suit her and she's trying her absolute best but I think the choreography just completely misses the accents and dramatic crescendos in the music (she's doing a combo spin at the most dramatic moment in both program?) She's honestly one of the most musical skaters out there and it sucks that she's not getting material that can truly let her shine. But hey, at least the Ina Bauer in both programs lasted long than half a second.
