So aside from 4F, Sofia has landed all other quads and 3A. Good lord, I think there’s no chance she’s losing her second jgp assignment at this point.

Yeah, obviously unless she or Sofia A fully bomb here as their layout are very risky and could potentially finish bellow Liza who doesn't have a second assignment.

Sofia S also jumped 4Lo in this practice as well. So I don't know if she is simply just doing them in training at Krasnoyarsk or going for them in the actual comp.

Agreed, never really understood what people liked about her. You know, Kostner used to be known as someone who had no artistic ability and was all jumps, but then after she got older she suddenly became seen as some great artistic talent even though her actual artistry barely even evolved over the years in my opinion. Never been a fan at all.
See, I don't think a program needs to have a billion transitions in order for it to not be empty. It can be done beautifully to the music even without moving transition to transition. The issue generally is that if there's not a ton of transitions, what we're left with is simply very weak choreo - but it does not have to be like

Sofia S has 4Lz now :jaw:

How exciting to see this! Go Sofia!

That 4Lo is fully rotated isn't it? Will she get all the quads before Sasha and Zhilina? She just learned 2 quads this summer, she can do more.

Is Samodelkina one of the skaters that wanted to go to Tutberidze?

Apparently Sofia A is planning a 3 quad, 1 3A FS :jaw:

She is really going all out, she has had a 4S since last season so im exited to see if she can land it. Its basically a all or nothing lay out tho, she can win by a mile or if she falls too many times with 4 more girls capable of ultra c jumps competing here she can miss the podium.
It's like her and Valieva are a pair. Really nice for Kamila to have a training partner like Sofia.

Since I have read the novel (like most Russian-speakers), I perfectly understand, at least in general terms, the idea of the creators of the program. Personally, I really like this program and it makes a strong impression on me. But what about non-Russian-speaking users? Russian-speaking people, take a look through the eyes of a foreign viewer. For that person, it looks like this - Anya first skate something tenderly sad, and suddenly crazy lights light up in her eyes and the music completely unexpectedly changes to a solemn and anxious one, and in the final part the music again turns into a heartbreaking dramatic mood. "What is it? What's going on?".

My question to everyone is whether Anya's program is too Russian-centric? Wasn't this a miscalculation when targeting an international audience?
You raise a very valid question and it may very well be that the program will not resonate with a large majority of the international and more casual audience. As far as I'm concerned, I'm extremely pleased to see skaters representing not only their country but also their culture on the biggest sport stage, choosing music, themes and costumes that are connected to their history or literature; I personally see these programs as a way to get to know things that I would not otherwise have heard about, much more than I would have had with a program targeted to a wider audience.
Honestly, my only regret about this year's Eteri's program is that we don't get to see a great Russian ballet SP from Kamila Valieva, who would have looked divine with it.

Sasha would be furious:bang: if Samodelkina lands that 4Lo in competition before her!

I expect Sasha is concentrating on that darn quad as I type...:)

:)

And this IMO is why maybe the greatest jumper we've ever seen is at this point without titles on the senior circuit, she wants too much to say she's the first to jump xyz

I agree with your observations (y) Regarding classical ballet programme, they tried to gave us that at last Olympics with Alina. I think Danil's mom was a ballet teacher Alina (and probably other students) was working with sometimes, but she sadly passed away. I know they have a dance teacher, but do they have someone who is a classical ballet teacher and who is helping the way Danil's mom was, i'm not that sure...

I think in 2021 in particular, when people look with more criticism at cultural borrowing, going to the own cultural roots is good. Master and Margarita has a lot of relevance in modern times, tbh, with consequences of cancel culture for example and overall creative crisis. Honestly, just think of it as a take on Faustus with a stronger female line and paranormal shenanigans… and you will be fine.

manuscripts don’t burn is a reminder that we can all think about once in a while as we struggle with modernity

like, if you don’t get something, like with every other culture, ask for an explanation and you shall receive, and probably more than one perspective. If Russians wouldn’t bring out what matters to them culturally to the international arena, the whole vodka-matryoshka-Anastasia is going to go on as nauseam

Samodelkina has a competition before Sasha doesn't she? With a clean 4Lo in her arsenal already I hope she can land it soon so the battle is lost. Then Sasha can concentrate on her layout for the Olympics and Samodelkina who is a quad queen too gets a record she absolutely deserves.

They both compete this weekend, Sofia in Krasnoyarsk and Sasha at US Classic. The women's free in Krasnoyarsk will happen before the women's free at US Classic, so we'll have to see what happens with this 4Lo battle there

Looks to me but it's so quick it's hard to tell.. ;) These jumps are great but her last competition's disaster still hangs in the air. I'm looking forward to see a completely different Samodelkina on Friday but is it actually possible? It would be like phoenix rising from the ashes.. we will see. ;)
Right? lol. I can't tell for sure either! I suppose I should see what her 3loop looks like, and how small/fast it is. But WOW to now be landing 3lutz, 3loop, 3sal, and 3toe!!!

My money is on Sasha. ;)
Sofia threatened us with these 4Lo vids last season as well and it never came to anything in competitions.

Sofia S. spoke that she wants to jump 4Lo first in this video. It was in December.

The time has come.
