I think it was shade at her technique and jumps. Last season, I was very confused at not only her jump quality, but also if her salchow was supposed to be a salchow or some sort of new-age loop that is now accepted as a salchow...were those supposed to be 4s or are you throwing some shade here lol
I'm not sure either, I seem to remember that some time after her death they hired a new young ballet teacher but I cannot find anything about her...maybe I dreamed about it, in the hope of new ballet programs from Eteri's students!I agree with your observationsRegarding classical ballet programme, they tried to gave us that at last Olympics with Alina. I think Danil's mom was a ballet teacher Alina (and probably other students) was working with sometimes, but she sadly passed away. I know they have a dance teacher, but do they have someone who is a classical ballet teacher and who is helping the way Danil's mom was, i'm not that sure...
I think in Germany she was always regarded as an artistic skater, even in her early years...Agreed, never really understood what people liked about her. You know, Kostner used to be known as someone who had no artistic ability and was all jumps, but then after she got older she suddenly became seen as some great artistic talent even though her actual artistry barely even evolved over the years in my opinion. Never been a fan at all.
Their new ballet teacher is Ksenia Potalitsyna! Zhelezhniakov once filmed a video of her training the junior/novice group.I'm not sure either, I seem to remember that some time after her death they hired a new young ballet teacher but I cannot find anything about her...maybe I dreamed about it, in the hope of new ballet programs from Eteri's students!
Anyway, while I was looking at the real or presumed new ballet teacher I found out that Sasha Proklova is working with young kids at Krustalnji, she was one of my favourite skaters back in the day and I'm happy she has found a place there to thrive as a coach!![]()
She made an attempt. My money is on Sasha.
Sofia threatened us with these 4Lo vids last season as well and it never came to anything in competitions.
I didn't dream about her, after all... where are all my ballet programs?Their new ballet teacher is Ksenia Potalitsyna! Zhelezhniakov once filmed a video of her training the junior/novice group.
This is my iconic Bolero

Now that was... curious to listen to.
1. The strangest thing to me is hearing that he comes up with programs without even having a skater in mind yet and then goes "so who do we give this one to guys?"
That must be what unavoidably happens when you have to choreograph 30 programs a season.
2. Second conclusion I draw from this is that he is very much convinced of his choices and we sadly probably will not see Alena or Kamila change theirs.
I actually get his reasoning behind Kamila and it's not a bad program at all, just would have preferred Storm or Picasso, but oh well. But I really hope they'll rethink Alena's..
3. I quiet like his idea behind Anna's oriental SP. Maybe the costume and more polishing will help it come across better and actually "swipe us away". He is clearly incredibly fond of Anna and confident in her abilities.
I think I'd swap Anna's and Kamila's ideas.3. I quiet like his idea behind Anna's oriental SP. Maybe the costume and more polishing will help it come across better and actually "swipe us away". He is clearly incredibly fond of Anna and confident in her abilities.
I'd disagree.I think I'd swap Anna's and Kamila's ideas.
I'd have gone for a lyrical LP with Kamila, since it's a more comfortable/familiar style for her, and she'd maybe be less nervous with the high tech content she'd be attempting in that case. The Bolero is a waste because she's not doing a good job with it (to me, anyway, not to mention bad choreography), and giving her the "different" SP would have showcased her range, and if it'd failed, it still would have been a less of a failure since it'd be shorter (and done without quads).I think at least one of Kamila's programs in the Olympics season just has to be an airy, lyrical, tender program, since those really showcase her biggest strengths perfectly. Body lines, beautiful light movement, SS, flexibility. If her FS has to be wasted on Bolero, at least let the SP work in her favor to the maximum.
On one hand, to me it looks like Sofia S has Alysa-Problem, that she doesn’t use speed to generate distance and air time. On the other hand, Sofia is tall as hell, I’m pretty sure she’s the tallest of all juniors. She doesn’t look too skinny, appears to me she’s quite muscular. So I’m not sure how it will go, but so far, given her height and body build, she’s been doing great! I think if anything, she’ll be able to adjust to her growth spurts.I think it was shade at her technique and jumps. I agree that taller skaters can have their own technique issues, and I don't usually mind them (Kvitelashvili has very bad and strange technique, just as an example, but I get why). I am just confused why the girl doesn't vault, because surely she's only going to get taller, and it will become a big problem when she does? But I think we'll see, no use making predictions when I'm really not that familiar with her.On one hand, to me it looks like Sofia S has Alysa-Problem, that she doesn’t use speed to generate distance and air time. They have been doing this from the very beginning (at least since 2014).Daniil explaining the SP choices
