Yeah and we've seen her landing the 4T but at what cost if the set up is that empty and long? and if training these elements take away other more important aspects she should care about, like the height in these triple jumps.

And yes training these jumps does help your triples but you don't train quad lutz, or quad flip or quad loop so it's not going to fix the technique on those.

Zinina in particular is very good, and the program too, good music (not overused), nice costume. Without the mistake on the 2a her score could have been around 70, closer to Zhilina and Muraveva.

Shcherbakova has never exactly had high triple jumps but is able to whip out quads. If these girls want any future in international competitions for Russia they'll need quads/triple axels so it's not wasted that Berestovskaya is working on them.

Counterargument look at that Mia Kalin from the previous JGP, nice 4t but all the other jumps are cheated.

If you don't fix your triples soon, the deadline is already very near for her, not medalling at junior competitions is often the kiss of death for these girls, and it would be a shame cause artistically she is way better than some of her teammates, she responds to the music.

Btw, Berestovskaya said that earlier this year, prior to her injury, she was landing 3A and 4S in practice.
If she's been landing 3A and 4S in the same way that she was landing 4T that doesn't mean a whole lot. Downgraded 3A or 4S aren't very valuable.

Personally, I'll believe it when I see it.

It's a shame of Samodelkina today, I still feel doing 3A in junior short is just not worth the risk.
It really is not.

3Lutz+3Loop combo vs 3Axel+3Toe only has some 1.4 points of difference in BV, which also is partially offset by the fact that you might be able to perform the combo on the second half but probably can't do so for 3A+3T. Then we consider likely GOE and it really is largely a waste of time to do 3A in the SP in juniors.

BV advantage is not big, and there’s a huge risk to lose that advantage if the execution of the combo is poor.
Maybe it does really matter to not include it if you want to win as a junior, but at the same time I imagine it is great exercise for your senior career. If Samo manages to make her 3A-3T super consistent this year, next year solo 3A will be so easy. She already gets used to 3A as a first jump, plus to it being securely landed every time, because she’s been doing it in a combo.

I can understand Akatieva doing the 3A-3T in the short, hers is very consistent and even when she doesn't land the 3A well, she can usually still get the 3T with no issue. Samodelkina's also used to be very consistent, but now that she's grown, that consistency is gone.

I said this in the competition thread, but I really wish Samo would've gone the Zhilina route for this competition. We saw Veronika land a beautiful 3A-3T in her short at test skates, but her team seemed to understand that it was much more important for her to go clean in her first international event. I think that would've benefitted Sofia a lot as well.

Not agreeing with and... pleased to announce that the Bolero costume will undergo some modifications ;) !

My apologies to come back to this but for the sake of clarification and honesty, by rereading me I'm afraid my last post here might be misleading. I take the precaution of giving you my original meaning : "Not agreeing with" the two quotes, seeming exaggerated to me.
However I appreciate reading the quoted reviews : it helps me reconsidering things differently (being fan makes you blind), to imagine what would be another version of the costume with attention to details that I have not yet.

As for me, I find that costume iconic and that it suits her perfectly. I love the obscure, the discrete colors, an imagery making the difference ; by the way since mentioning Hall-🎃-ween there is a little "inexplicable" something that resonates within me, what charmed me last year and still.

Maybe my attempt at "conciseness" was perfectly clear _but I have my doubts

This has probably already been said but I just realised Gubanova is listed for the Finlandia Trophy as well (competing for Georgia)! So I guess her transfer is fully finalised now?

It'll be really nice to see her competing internationally again.

"experts": "TeamTut won't have time for juniors in the Oly season, we shouldn't expect anything extra from them..."
SuperSonic: sets world records in SP TES, FS and total score (while adding 4S to her arsenal)

No one really stood out to me from the top 3 artistically, Sofia S was probably the best performer among them, but there was a lot of impressive jumping. The judges on the other hand were surprisingly unimpressed with Sofia S's 4Lz. I personally didnt think it deserved a q, and the GOE only went from -1 to +1.

Personally, I liked Sofia S. the most. I would have been upset had she not gotten into the podium and secured the second spot. She needs to leave out the 3A from the short program, especially when trying to secure another spot or make the GP finals. The two Liz’s were charming. It is disappointing to note that a clean performance such as Kulikova’s isn’t enough for a second spot. A score over 200 is required in the RUS Juniors for another slot in the Junior Grand Prix. I miss Shin judging the technical elements, though. I thought a lot of q’s were actually <. I was impressed by Sofia A. Quads. But, thought some should have not gotten full marks. I expected her technical score to come down. I guess she is the favourite in the circuit. Zinina, besides her 4T’s, which are impressive, is my least favourite from the Plushenko camp. But, she was really happy and relieved when she knew she scored over 200 and made the podium. My clear favourite in the Junior Circuit is Sofia M. Her triples are really good and I like her the most artistically. The only one to secure a second spot without an ultra-c element though. Story of my life. Sofia S. is my second favourite now and nice to see her camp getting spots. We need a third camp besides the main two.

I don't think Samodelkina will get a second one: She is currently assigned the last one but i think shell get subbed out six spots left. even if she does I don't think she'll make the final anyway
