How on earth can this be important? That is something I will never understand. :ROFLMAO:
The same reason why the russian (including their commentators, coaches even some of their designers ), always say that most of the US top ladies usually dont dress well and have cheap looking dresses. The same reason TAT criticized Yuna Kim’s 2014 FP dress on the Olympic. The same reason why there used to be grumbles regarding Liza. Like it or not, aesthetic is always been part of this sport. Though thankfully, it wouldn’t mean much, as long as you perform well and have high TES.

So...you're point is, (in the Russian Women's thread I might add), that all Russian women are overscored?
In my opinion, all top skaters are frequently overscored. Finlandia was so overscored ( not just the Russians all the top 6 women perhaps excepting Gubanova) that people are shocked when a competition is scored fairly. The Budapest trophy was one of the few events where you can look at the elements, then look at the GOE and technical panel decisions and think," yes that's about right." Anna was scored a bit more generously than Maiia or Sofia but she is World Champion so that is par for the course. I hope we see more scoring like this competition this season, but I am afraid that won't happen.

Lol, good one. Tell us another!

My favourite is not just there aren’t enough Russians in the JGPF but the scoring in Krasnoyarsk wasn’t biased or generous to particularly Russian skaters.

Next thing you’ll tell us is the Russian GP is totally fair for non-Russians. 😂
I guess this is the way you tell me your evening was entertaining with several 🍷

Cheers

Sorry but I see no one here asking what the heck Anna is doing on the ice with a neck brace (which indicates an injury there?) Like literally I was screaming at my stream. What is she thinking ? What is the team and most of all her parents thinking. No matter if she looked good here, but when someone wears a neck brace than this is not for show, and her jumping is very dangerous if she takes a fall if she really has an I jury or something at her neck? This could have serious consequences

Malicious scoring is a lot more problematic than any form of overscoring in my book. If the purveyors of "correct" scores really wanted they'd have more to say about Tuktamysheva's ridiculous program components last week. Alas it only happens when a skater is not palatable to your taste. I thought the PCS were on point for the top 2 contenders Kostornaya and Valieva, over scored on everyone except for the hapless Gubanova who should never be below Elizaveta in any properly judged event.

It was just tape for muscle pain, not a neck brace. She might have slept funny or had a random twinge. She wouldn't be able to move her neck of it was a brace.

Ive seen so many people say that its a neck brace and its making me think do people seriously not know what neck brace looks like? What Anna has looks like big bandage or some sort of patch. This is what a neck brace looks like.

Don't want to put a dampener on things - but I will.

Does anyone else feel let down so far? At least from Sambo-70. I kind of expected a lot more. The music and choreography, the technical quality, the costumes.

1) The programs- I feel like for almost every single skater you can find a past program that was better both music/choreography-wise. It's kind of unbelievable. Sasha's new FS at least was good. For all the talk of Daniil having saved lots of ideas for the Olympics season, he probably switched the files and gave those programs out in 2020. I'm still holding the slim shred of hope he scrunches up the program sheet for the skaters and they just go back and do a greatest hits.

2) Technically- If you consider how last season Kamila came out with 3A and 4S, Maiia with 4T and 4S. All of them having a rippon 2A. They all had more flexible spins. This season I was excited about who would be bringing out new jumps, new anything...the answer is no one. And Anna due to injury is at that deja-vu of stabilising her 4F/4Lz, Aliona stamina issues and frankly looked better during the April exhos, Daria still with no ultra-c, Sasha inconclusive mentally, 3A is still impossible for her. Kamila pretty good and Maiia can rotate those quads easy. But no new jumps, it's been a case of saving what you have.

3) Costumes - I get that their designer Olga was sick, but the consequence is lackluster costumes all around.

I can't help but be shocked given how polished the Eteri-skaters came out during the Covid season. The Covid season! Right from the start of the year, from test-skates. Comparatively it's all a bit of a disaster. Yet the chances of winning Olympic gold keep shooting up so that's something.
Its early.

Maybe they've been vaccinated and are not back to normal yet. Some people take months to get back to normal and the vaccines hit young in shape people even harder than older people. We know this now.

Even though the TT girls are not as brilliant at the start of this season as they were last season I expect them to win every event they enter with 2 or more TT competitors until the Olympics. I think the word disaster is too strong a word at this point.

Sasha and KV can score between 240 and 260 points if they're on. Anna 230 to 250 points. Aliona 220 to 240 points. Dasha and Maya 220 to 230 point minimum. We have to keep an eye on Maya she has a bigger upside than any of us thought a year or so ago. Those scores are going to be hard to beat from ladies from other countries.

If Frolova does move to another country, how long does she need to not compete? Will it start counting from JGP or from Rostelecom or 2020 Rus Nationals? Or nothing inside Russsia counts?
It's 2 years no International competitions. Has she had one? I would hope she would not do what nastya did and wait until she's almost 19 to move. I'm not sure the Russian federation is pleased with losing Nastya and Maria after funding them for many years. I would not expect them to just tell Anna and Anna a beautiful skater OK honey go to another country. It's a tough decision for the federation because you don't want to open the floodgates but who wants to see beautiful skaters retire by the age of 18 if they can go to another country and be funded by that country's federation and have a career for a few more years and make some money and make their parents happy?

Was Rostelecom considered international last year or domestic? If that was domestic, then JGP would be her last international, I think? Which means she would be able to compete internationally next season for a different country?

She still had something on her neck, indicating that something is not right there. Her having a broken toe is one thing, but have g something with her neck while skating a complete other thing. Not to mention that she literally bended backwards like 4 times in the sp! With a soreness or a strained neck? That's not a good idea at all. It can easily get worse than just soreness . Especially if she falls the wrong way. As it is a challenger and not an gp assignment I hope at least they go easy on the fp

Not to mention what seems to be a huge bruise Anna has on her neck, so yes I am questioning what happened to Anna that she is firstly wearing something on her neck and secondly looks to have a huge bruise on her neck, so yes I am worried , it's the neck, and any injury there are risky
