I guess it makes sense but what must Maya be thinking after being ahead of Anya after the SP and then landing one more quad?

The good news from Maya is she is on the rise.

The good news for Anna is she is finding her form.
Maiia says she needs a 3A in the SP and do 3 quads in the FS.
She’s working on that 3A, with it she’ll have a chance.
She wasn’t that far ahead of Anna in the SP and unfortunately made a mistake on a 3Lo, got StSq2, plus her last 3Lz was a little wonky. If she cleans it up, she’ll get closer to 160.

Who think like me that Anna Scherbakova should go in this direction with her dress like example Madison Chock : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw9zxmvRQOI

For me Anna program should be a mix of gold and green color, it would be awesome and would suit the SP program better :)

I think her current dress is perfect. It's supposed to capture the desert heat, the sand, the burning sun with the intense orange and red tones and then they mixed in the mystical aspect of the music with the dark grey. It's actually my favorite costume of the Russian girls.
When I see it I think of a desert sunset with nighttime approaching and Anna is conjuring her Sandstorm.

The costume you show looks Indian style/Bollywood to me and has also been done a hundred times in different versions for the cringy Bollywood programs all skaters wanna do at some point in their carrer 😄
But everyone has different taste.

In general I feel like I'm the only person who loves Anna's SP. The music as well as the choreo and the costume.

I love it, too. The dress looks like the setting sun.

I love Anna in general. I'm a fan of her programs this year.

I'm a fan of Maya's SP and Anna's FP in this year.

I treat all other programs calmly (except Liza's FP - i don't like this things in FS and I'm not shy to say this)

That's a really interesting association and I can imagine that it was also the original idea of the Team. I finally found a video of the official broadcast (this season I can barely find any competition that is available for me on YT......) and I could take a closer look at her SP dress. I actually thought it represents fire because it has all the shades of a flame. At a standstill, the dress is gorgeous. However, in action the dark spots prevail and it looks kind of underwhelming. At times, the orange makes it look like a Halloween costume, tbh. I think that I just can't make a connection between the music and the dress, which is problematic to get into the whole picture. Anna's artistry is still compensating this, and I generally find her SP to be the most interesting so far. I know it would be generic to go for an egyptian type of costume, but I think that Alina's styling for Cleopatra was spot on. In my opinion, Anna also needs a little bit of sparkle and gold. I was actually imagining her purple dress from TestSkates, but black in stead of purple, and with a gold+blue belt on the waist. But this will never happen, well, dreams are for free

As for her choreo, I think that the program is very cool. The only problematic moment is her flying camel spin, I think she loses the momentum at this time point, and it is crutial because the music gets so fast.

Never doubted her. She looked calm at test skates, like everything’s going according to plan. Her triples looked very good, so I knew it will be fine.
Anna always focuses on her own path and does things at her own pace. Her being able not to look at others and keep going is what helps her to stay at the top.
Her focus is incredible as her ability not to be flustered is flustered by the likes of the supernova sasha the phenom Camilla and now Maya.
Maiia says she needs a 3A in the SP and do 3 quads in the FS.

160 + 80 = 240 and 240 might win the olympics! :) Unless KV is pretty clean. Then 250 will be needed.

Lets see how much better Maya can get this season. If she adds the 3A in her sp and another quadruple in her free watch out!

And what exactly are your claims?
GOE +2 requires "good take-off and landing". There is nothing written about "ur" or at best "q". But maybe that's required to get +2,99. The whole thing is absolutely ridiculous.

And why did you decide that there is no "good take-off and landing" ?
without fantasies about q and UR

Yeah, russian media is always ready to “support” these girls, whenever they make a mistake. Anna landed several Lz-Los in the warm up, so clearly it was a fluke mistake. Rus media went all dramatic as if Anna isn’t capable of doing 3-3 anymore.

While its never a good thing to make a mistake, especially when you are a Russian lady, it was a good learning situation for not only Shcherbakova but the other ladies as well in remembering to still muster up some jump to save the combination, similar to what Satoko did at Worlds last year with 1 of her jumps - do they get very good GOEs on it, no, but they aren't hammered on losing the combination.

Well Khromykh had some tiny errors where as Shcherbakova was clean in the FS, her SP lead was not significant enough to make up for her errors and Shcherbakova's PCS advantage.

It also highlights to Shcherbakova's advantage with her quads over Khromykh, Kostornaia and Tuktamysheva when you look overall at putting skaters on the Olympic team - the 2 quads that Shcherbakova does are the highest valued jumps, her stand-alone quad flip was worth more in BV than Khromykh's quad toe+double toe combination; so she can risk less quads/triple axels.

The link in my post does not take you to the land of fantasy, but to the land of facts. So do not ask why I "decided something", but rather why the judges did NOT decide something. I suspect the judges simply had tears of emotion in their eyes again.

Anna and her champion mind. No task is hard enough for her. She was not in an easy position. Expectations from a world champion, injury, not very good previous competition and a mistake in the short program. And she delivers her best international skate. When she wil bring back her 4Lz (landed in the warm-up), only Kamila and 5 quad Sasha can be competitors for her.

Maiia landed two clean quads. Maiia can!
