Have you found out how coronavirus is in Estonia? can the Russian team get there by train instead of plane?

Well, they only lost because of Gabriella's costume problem, they got a deduction in the rhythm dance (-1) because of that, they then won the Free Dance but lost the gold medal by 0.79.
So yea, that must have been annoying.

Estonia is relatively under control but worries me is that they don't require the test when entering the country and the arena, that's ofc for vaccinated people but here in Czechia we see a lot of vaccinated people getting sick.
I will be on the arena myself and I will be wearing my FFP mask at all times but I doubt that everyone will...

And no, Moscow to Tallinn is like 16h by train, I also don't think that the train is any safer than a plane.

For those who think Europeans and 4CC are risky. Think of all the other winter sports who have a busy time in January. The Alpine skiers have 2-4 competitions per week in January before they head off to the Olympics...

Exactly. There are classic skiing competitions taking place, biathlon, snowboarding etc. etc. At all of them there are people with olympic ambitions.

Maybe there is a risk of contract disease, but so far it seems it is equally big anywhere else either.

What blows my mind now is that kids here in America and young people are getting nailed with the bug and more vaccinated people that I ever imagined.

Have fun at the arena and I hope you get to see a lot of great skating. Put stress on these athletes must be massive having to do with the regular pressures of their Sport and life and then you throw the cinder block of a virus on top of everybody.

But skiing is outside and in great elevation.
But I suppose there is a risk to everything.
It's a damn shame I feel there Olympics will be tainted by Coronavirus even worse than the summer games were.

Do the Russian parents want their under 18 skaters that go into the Olympics to be vaccinated? Because if they're not vaccinated and they test positive they are done.

They need to change the team event rules. I guess it's too late for this Olympics.

This is not going to make you feel better but where I live in Australia we have about a 90%+ vaccination rate and everyone has caught it anyway!!! We totally would not be let into China!!!

No one had parties this Xmas, we all stayed home, and voila, all of us ended up getting Omicron anyway. I think that nearly everyone will get Omicron and now it's just hoping that the Olympians can hold it off until after the Olympics. Otherwise we are going to have an Olympic gold medalist from Belgium (or wherever).

I wonder a bit if the Fed is pushing the skaters at all to curtail their social life or commercial stuff right now; I saw on Instagram there were a pictures of Valieva with some friends at a public ice rink. I understand omicron is not that severe for most people and think its reasonable for a healthy person to not by afraid of it, but right now for the Olympic athletes (Russian or otherwise) it should be a concern of getting it at the worst possible time because they have to show a negative test to be able to compete at the Olympics.

It's got to be super frustrating to be doing the right things paying attention to everything and still getting Omicron. But now you have natural immunity I hope that will last a year or so and natural immunity is supposed to be much superior to the vaccines.

My physician's assistant told me recently in a video appointment because I didn't want to go into the office that everyone is going to get Omicron and my jaw nearly dropped to the floor.

I keep hoping against hope that the skaters at Europeans can get out of there healthy heading to the Olympics where they will be in a bubble and hopefully safer.

I expect the Russians to do really well and all four disciplines at Europeans.

If there were any considerations or doubts about who skates the SP in the team event, they are over now. Only question will be who skates the FS.

Hmmmmm I’m perplex with Sasha. No matter how many times she tries, she always popped her 3A in competition.

The conclusions that can be taken from the feminine event:

Trusova has a huge mental blockade to land the 3A, or once she understands that her mental blockage is superior to her will or that she forgets to compete for the medal by teams.

Shchervakova is pulling his last chance to go to the Olympics, if she morning is out of the podium she will go to fight for the 3th place with Tuktamysheva and Khromykh in the final of the Russian Cup, and I doubt the judges come back to help.

Valieva is Year of light over any woman, not of the season, but from history.

And finally, in another site the laughter and joy that was seen after the fall of Shcherbakova was one of the most disgusting moments I have read throughout this season in that latrine.
