2021 JGP France II: Women's Short Program

Lovely flip and axel from Nikola - she really held such a lovely line coming out of the axel. She's a very together young skater, and strikes me as one who will be lovely to watch grow from junior to senior.

Nikola FOMCHENKOVA. By far the youngest skater in the field.

Considering how young she is, that was impressive.

And because of her age, I am not holding that version of "Roxanne" against her. She is far too young to know what the song should sound like. Her coaches should know better, though!

So Ted just said Seoyeon couldn't get back to the US after last weekend and the ISU agreed to let her skate here again. Weird - wonder what happened?
Yes, that explains why there is an extra Korean girl here. But why couldn't she get into the US? o_O

The combo, alas, was not Seoyeon's friend today, but she was thinking on her feet as it happened, which is nice to see in so young an athlete. She really attacked every element, though she may have been a bit tired by the end, with only a Level 2 StSq.

dancing ghoul 2/3:cheer:

Glad you put that cheer there, because normally when people do a tally of something, it is because they are complaining about it appearing too often. And I like that piece.

Enjoyed that programme.

Korea has some seriously good youngsters coming through. The competition for slots is going to become like the Hunger Games very soon!
