2021 Skate Canada: Women's Free Skate

So, we have three of my favorite women's programs this season from Karen, Alysa and Wakaba, and two of my least favorites from Kamila (blech Bolero) and Liza (it's the arms)

On CBC : Ted asked Patrick to pick the best skating skills, Elladj the best performer and Kaetlyn the best technician.

We will see what they pick

Like did the in-rink announcer do it? Or was it Simon? Because if it was the former...well they also mentioned how poor Makar couldn't skate for two seasons because of injury, which I thought was uncool.

That statistic about Tuk winning SC a decade ago....

Yepp it is, now she has the best dresses of the ladies at the moment in russia. Both the sp dress and this dress do look beautiful.

So excited for the second group! I'm pulling hard for Alyona and Alysa ... my favorites in the SP.

Alyona is fully returned to her power and dare I say glory, with her delicacy and light touch intact, with a program that lets her show her wonderful expression with the music. She's like nobody else, and just what I want to see in a female skater. The 3A was gorgeous ... in fact the only jump that faltered a little was her favorite jump, the 3F-3T.

Alysa is just pure joy. Plus she's improved her technique, in the areas that so many criticized. Her skating skills are so strong, and she hasn't lost a single iota of her sparkle!

The ladies are skating well, but the programs are all so similar. What I wouldn’t give for Cruella right now.

I totally get what you're saying, all this gentle music may make me fall asleep... but in a good way, where at least if that does happen the dreams will be about magical kingdoms and the fairy princesses living in them...
