Anna's the number 1 in her country and Sasha just messed up. Also remember Anna got a 35 LAST YEAR internationally as Russia's number 2. She was going to get a PCS jump as Russia's number 1 and as a second year senior.

Eteri scores don‘t explain the leniency on Tennell and Chen. I‘m not the biggest Eteri fan (as in: I‘m not a fan at all) but this is pure politics and not just for her skaters. Russia and US are the most influential feds and it shows in a way that is both bizarre and disgusting.

Yep. I'm not sure why the general consensus apparently is that Japanese fed's more powerful than US. Both ladies and men show this to not at all be the case.

I think you need to call everyone equally. If you are going to be lenient with URs do so with every skater. Although I'd prefer the opposite, but still equal treatment.

I think Benoit is trying to fashion Bradie to be his American version of Kaori by giving her these modern music. She's trying to break away from the plain blonde girl stereotype but this program is just awkward and the jumpsuit is not helping.

Rika was probably scored fairly, it's just that Anna wasn't. Not on this planet does she deserve the highest SS scores by half a freakin point.

The US and Korea would need to send a skater to Nebelhorn to compete for an extra spot since they don't have a third skater in the FS, but yes, they would have the potential to have three.

77-78? TES is deservedly lower than Liza with the lack of the 3a, PCS should be a tad higher tho.

A little stumble at the beginning of the steps sequence, and that costed the level 4.

Doubt they'll call the edge on the lutz...

I had Anna at 78-79. Her PCS was too high. Should have been no more than 35 and change, given how others were scored.

I think the Eteri bonus played a role for Anna (highest SS lol) but the US girls were also definitely gifted as well. How are they ahead of Haein, Kaori, and Yelim?!

Don't confuse an Eteri bonus with merely the power of the Russian Fed.

Remember Anna got a 35 internationally in PCS last year as Russia's number 2. It was obvious she was getting a PCS jump of a point or 2 as Russia's number 1. And as a second year senior. Her PCS were also helped by Sasha messing up before her - think Adelina after Yulia messed up at the Olympics.

^^ I thought Rika would be in first too, until I saw the replay on her landings. I think the judges are tweaking her for being 1/4 under on a couple of landings. On the replay, both looked clearly under even by a bit more than 1/4. So Rika actually got a break!

My emotions really went on a rollercoaster for that short! I was happy then shocked then happy then shocked x 20
