2021 Worlds: Pairs' Free Skate

Most undeserved World pairs gold ever. Sui and Han should have won gold if they were given the right pcs not a measly 1 point ahead of the Russian juniors. The music was super cringy, no choregraphy, no connection. between the skaters. They skate from one element to the other and only realize they are skating with someone else at the last 20 secs. Yes they skated clean, but their pcs should not have been over 70. They have as much artistry as the team who finished last.

Wow. Imagine winning an event where competition was so strong that the team who finished last had equal artistry to the gold medallists! Legendary! Congrats to M/G!

I imagine she was just disappointed - we all react differently and maybe her way is deflecting with ironic humour? It must be crushing for B/K losing momentum and to a team that they are as good as if not better than on any given day. They also got 2 new programmes while B/K still had James Bond - perhaps they were feeling let down artistically?

I would be way less upset if S/H actually messed it up for themselves, and it would have been fair since they had so little competition time this season, but the fact that they got robbed via PCS is going to bug me for a very long time.

Same! I don’t care that M/G were clean, they should not be that close to S/H! PCS so far in every discipline is a mess!

No-one deserves a medal simply for showing up.

Yuzuru fans have the same problem, he's amazing, but they're constant whinging about how he deserves +5 and 10 just for stepping on the ice?

They did win bronze at the GPF as well as won everything as Juniors. They were good even before moving to Moskvina.

I'm okay with M/G winning. I think they were overscored in PCS.

Get it out folks. Vent if you need to. We have three more events and chances are there will be more people outraged.

I mean, they kind of did though, on the technical side? They didn't have big errors, but they weren't completely clean either. In the FS, M/G had all +GOE (BV 60.40). Sui had a UR on the 3S and the 2T in the combo and a q on the 3T (BV 56.98). Those mistakes meant they had negative GOE on both sbs jumping passes, and M/G already have higher BV on that element. And Sui had the step/q on the 3T in the SP as well, which if clean might have done it.

I agree that the PCS score seems a bit low, and I would be fine with S/H having come out on top. But I don't think this result is unreasonable either. For me it was close and could go either way.

They were great before Moskvina. But they really stepped up their game with her. She polished them up, added a lot of creative elements. They started to stand out among others.

That is how I felt. It could have gone either way. I would have preferred S/H winning but I'm not horrified at M/G. It's not like some other upsets I've seen.

B/K were in lead. They could win, it's Sasha Boikova own fault for not winning. Being angry at Moskvina is ridiculous.

I’m sure she is more angry at herself than she is at Moskvina. She has to know that the errors that led to this result were her own. And she probably feels that she failed her partner as well.

I think S/H fans think more M/G were overscored in PCS instead of S/H being robbed, though? Can't say the same about some Hanyu fans, because they do think he should have scored 49 in PCS today.... I only think Nathan should have less in PCS, performing like he did today, comparing it to Yuzu's or Jason's level of performance.

I agree M/G won, S/H deserved more PCS and were technically outpointed by MG.
