Rant incoming.

I will never understand the figure skating obsession with random bits of old, but not old enough to be interesting, pop culture, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Fifth Element being prime examples. That, and 5 - 10 year old dreary songs. And Muse. And The Matrix. There is a world of classic and current entertainment out there to explore yet an odd handful of inexplicable themes have become skating standards. It makes me appreciate the less well-worn choices all the more (unless the choice is a moody, almost unrecognizable cover of a recent song, like that strange Billie Eillish cover skated to yesterday).

I missed most of the actual skating up to now as I had to take a call. I'd rewind, but then I'd be out of sync with live comments so might as well start with the next group.
