I wanted for so long to see a promising, Olympic eligible Japanese pairs team make a splash at worlds. A country with such a powerful singles program deserves to find their way toward consistant podiums in the other disciplines. Today wasn't as strong as the short program performance but it was a good step forward.

Ryuichi makes my day. It's obvious how much he enjoys what he's doing.
