2022-23 Russian Local Events – Discussion

a popped 4T into a 2T, a fall from another 4T that was likely under and 2 step outs leading her to loose one combo:(
Why were they even experimenting with a planned two-quad program here? There was absolutely no need for that.

Had she just skated the layout from the Russian Cup series with one 4T, she'd probably have dealt better with that, even with a fall on it.

Is she at the Russian Cup Final? If so perhaps they were hoping to do it there and used this as a test run?

But yeah, perhaps too ambitious. :(

Im not sure but they been doing that for awhile now if she pops one she goes for a second 4T. They need to desperately change her lay out take out one 4T or both even for now. Also stop backloading all combos because rn she is making mistakes on them which leads her to loose a full combo due to that its not worth the 1 or 2 extra points.

Diana Milto also didn't have a great skate, unfortunately. The pressure is really getting to these girls.

No, Masha didn't even make Jr Nats, much less the Russian Cup Final.
I'm still wondering if her missing out on Jr Nats despite outscoring a number of skaters who did make Jr Nats has negatively impacted her confidence for competitions such as this.

I hope Maria M won't be too sad.
I think she'll be very disappointed, sadly. She missed Novice Nats by one spot last season, then Jr Nats this season by 1 spot (after withdrawals) and now she'll finish her attempt at qualifying for Novice Nats with one of the lowest scores she got in the last two and a half seasons.

Though I must say that she has a bit of a pattern of not skating well at Moscow Novice Championships, last season was the only one where she skated to almost her full potential.

What a great skate from Yuliana, its really shame team tut switched her to represent Moscow instead of having her represent her former club and getting into the novice nats from there. Moscow judges are just not that into her as she has no reputation.

Alisa Polyakova visually kind of reminds me of Mura, something about the tall, lanky body type and blond hair.🤔

Though in this case, the style of skating is not too similar, as is sometimes the case with some other skaters who might not actually visually resemble each other that much.

Nice, clean skate, but I don't think she has the difficulty to keep up with the scores the skaters before her received.

And Uliana Vasilieva reminds me of Nastya Zinina - Or maybe her packaging does (i.e. music, choreo and costumes seem like they would also work for Nastya).
