Unfortunately, that's not just about warhorse music... It's hard to see how much hate Alina Gorbacheva gets from Russian Trusova fans for using Cruella music. She said she chose this music back in 2020-2021 but they don't believe her. They blame Alina for the same music cut/pieces and say her choreo also looks like Trusova's moves... But actually I liked Alina's program so I hope she won't read those comments and will keep skating this program as she wants.
No one owns any music. As an Evgenia fan, I love when another skater uses her music or replicates one of her dresses.
I hope Alina G just ignores the comments, but she's young so I fear she is probably upset by it.

You're right, it's not just warhorse music, but Alina was especially unfortunate to end up with Sasha's fans, who are sometimes a bit too protective of and overenthusiastic about her, she has a cult following not unlike Yuzuru Hanyu (whose fans are surprisingly "tolerant" of people using the same music as him) or Tessa Virtue/Scott Moir.

Warhorse music just has the added potential to lead to such attacks from fans of multiple skaters, instead of just one (R&J has for example been done by Aliona, Sasha, Yuzuru Hanyu, Daria Usacheva, ...).

Either way, nobody owns a piece of music, and no skater should have to think about who used the music before them when deciding if they will choose it for their program, that's just absurd.

If they think Trusova "owns" Cruella music, you would think she created an iconic masterpiece with the music like Kim Yuna did with Piano Concerto. But no. Stripping away the 5 quads at the olympics, the choreography and performance would not even hold up to skaters who skated 2 groups earlier than her. She literally marked the whole program and only started getting into the program in the last minute. "Owning" a music, would mean a skater has given the best possible interpretation of the music whereas Trusova's Cruella is quite the opposite.

It is more about certain skaters who are identified with a piece of music. Wakaba and Skyfall. Zagitova and Don Quixote. They might not have iconic choreography or skating skills, but they are still closely identified with their music. Of all of Sasha's programs, I like Cruella the least, but many of her earlier programs, I can't see anyone but her when the music plays. (Big Spender, Kill Bill, Game of Thrones). Some music multiple people have skated to-Carmen, R&J, etc., and it doesn't matter, but when a piece of music is distinctive, it sort of does matter. (I just wouldn't do it. Why not find a piece of music that no-one has skated to? Men seem to be able to work outside the box a bit more, and pick something different. Googlev with Run boy Run, etc. The pair teams seem to do better picking unusual music that has never been used before either. ). Even if Alina G. has better skating skills, and a better program to Cruella, I'm still only going to think about Sasha.

The stereotype that Shcherbakova (and some other skaters) is very bad in presentation and can only make a tragic face. The phrase itself means that the eyebrows look like a triangular roof of a house.

Plushenko won (Maria Mazur) and bronzed (Veronika Zhilina) junior Moscow, no Tutberidze skaters in competition.

Actually there was one, Elizaveta Ilicheva recently transfered to Eteri.
As for Zhilina, I wouldn't say that Plushenko "won" in this case, she was the usual mess and lucky to get the bronze.
But Mazur was the discovery of the event!

Mazur was nice gave me Rachel Flatt vibes lovely skater but not memorable for me. Zhilina, sigh not a fan of the FS, was a bit of a mess, which isn't unusual for her but if this continues it will be like last season where she gets a bit buried in deeper fields because of the mess.

Question- does anyone know if Zhilina's mother is still involved in her day-to-day coaching?

She's not. Nika was coached by Dmitri Mikhailov and Sergei Alekseev for a while and has now moved to the group under Alexander Abt. (Yes, the coaching groups at AoP are extremely confusing, half of the time I have no idea who is coached by whom.)

I don't know if the comment had the intention to make a AofP vs TT, but regardless the coaches, these competitions really have high quality skaters you never have seen before. It is really enjoyable.

I was really impressed by many spins at Moscow juniors ; in the top 5 there was a Milana (don't remember the name, sorry) who had absolutely stunning spins with pretty unique variations, Elizaveta Kulikova spinning in both directions, and in the short program a girl finished a spin with a few turns on the back of the blade, I've never seen that before ! And all the usual great spinners (Nika, Nastya Zinina...), but I especially dig the creativity :)
