How did we get to enter so many ice dancers? Not that I’m complaining. Just curious.

US and Canada have deep dance fields and are both easily able to identify three very competitive teams that are not going to the Olympics; in addition, Australia and Japan now have more competitive teams than ever before. The dance competition at Four Continents is usually excellent!

One of my favorite competitions for dance!

Four Continents has always been a bellweather for non-European ID, hasn't it? I see Green and Parsons taking the title, which should set them up nicely for the next quad (and for the inter-US rivalry with Hawayek and Baker). And the Olympic year FCCs are always so interesting because you get to see not only skaters from unexpected places (New Zealand this year! Yay NZ!), but the best of the second tier (shall we say) non-European dance teams. I'm sorry I have to miss it, but hopefully someone will post videos of the competition (HINT HINT HINT).

;)

OH! And I hadn't seen that Soucisse and Firus have moved over to Lane and Raz. About time. I think that's a potentially powerful combination. Montreal never seemed to know what to do with them after their first year. Hoping that they really go for the quirk.
