They were amazing. I will watch again and again. I’m really so excited. And apparently winning a challenger makes them eligible for a GP assignment.

it puts them on the replacement list (if it is considered a challenger event... not sure it was as pointed out by @SnowWhite . A spot opened up in Espoo (Matte-Ferland w.d)... but Espoo doesn't need to invite them automatically. There are other options probably. If that had happened for them earlier this season, much better chance... but at this point, there is only one event left. (NHK is too close for them to get an invite).

Talking simply about what they put on the ice.. at this point, exactly because Nate is up there in age, I personally do not see much potential for the team. Being an off-ice couple will not change that I am afraid... look at Alexa... she didn't get her biggest accolades with her life partner.

I agree, I do not know and have not read this, pure guess, but I believe Nate is continuing for Katie, and I think they will need to think about what they want to do.

Again, pure guess, I don't think he has the desire that his former partner Deanna had. Then again, he's been skating for at least 20 years straight, so he is in a much different place.

they can skate for the pleasure of training and skating together.... nothing wrong with that. But competitive athletes usually want more and better opportunities... which they may not get.

The pairs event in Austria wasn't a Challenger I don't think. So not sure this puts them on the replacement list. They're being flexible this season due to the lack of pairs, so it's possible, but I wouldn't assume they are now considered eligible.
