UGH bittersweet, seeing Nathan take Yuzuru's spot in the podium seats.

Exactly! He skated so free! Who cares about that pop, I do not.Nathan!!!Absolutely smashed it, what a feat after 2018, finally a GOLD! And that final sequence, when he knew that he'd done it. I've never seen him smile so wide during a performance. A few slips here and there, but this was the performance of the night!!!
He really is enjoying himself like he said! I'm so glad he kept it relaxed and didn't rush or panic when slightly off. I know, he usually is calm, but it is the Olympics after all. Absolutely thrilled for him!I think that's the most free I've ever seen Nathan Chen skate, and I'm so happy for him. There were flashes of smiles all through that, instead of the usual "must-get-through-this-and-then-rock-out-the-ChSq".
Magnificent.
I'm going to have to go back and look for that.Aw, I caught Adam Rippon crying in the stands. Let it go!
So totally agree! Was thinking this as he skatedI’m so happy for Raf too! It’s like the culmination of all of his coaching work. His relationship with Nathan is just different.
Infamous German commentator. He's got his opinions and he ain't afraid to say 'em.Who?![]()
Nathan enjoyed that skate, he has his gold, he deserves it and good for him.
Spousal Unit, who graduated from Yale many many many years ago, was impressed with his fellow JE resident. (JE is the college, colleges are what Yale calls dorms. Probably the only thing Spousal Unit and Nathan have in common.)
Wish I could give you multiple likes for that!Spousal Unit

Yes and I'm staying for it.Everyone's leaving quick!
But isn't there a mascot ceremony?!
