When did Malinin go to Arutyunyan? Good move by his Mama. I've loved this kid since he skated to music from Sons of Anarchy at his first JGP.

Owwwww, that was a hard fall on the 4S. He's going to be hurting tomorrow.

He still trains primarily with his parents I believe. But they've been consulting with Raf for a while

Some mistakes like these are completely understandable at his first Worlds. The talent is there. Better programs, maturity, and mileage will benefit him in coming years. Ilia should still be very proud of himself.

Oh poor Illia. It's going to be ok. This too shall pass. He was going to have one of these competitions sooner or later. Hopefully this will be the last of it.

Ouch - That fall looked horribly painful! I actually gasped aloud. I hope that he is okay. He had such a strong start, but it fell off the rails after that terrible fall. It's a decent program, but I do prefer his SP. I really like his top, and I appreciate that the gloves are part of it (compared to Daniel, who had a gap at the wrist).

I was shocked he got higher PCS than Camden in the SP but the judges were charmed by the jumps. I can't see them running with him too much here

Ah to be young again... Ilia is a young sponge and will learn from this. Just thrilling to see him so fresh and innocent.
