2023-24 Retirements, Splits and New Partnerships

Lori-Anne Matte/Noel-Antoine Pierre plan on representing France as they took part in the Senior monitoring of the French National team:

Sumitada Moriguchi (JPN) is retiring from singles skating in order to fully focus on pairs:

Daria Usacheva (RUS) retires from competitive skating (probably the clearest answer we've gotten from a Russian skater for a long time):

New ice dance couple for Russia: Vasilisa Kaganovskaia/Maksim Nekrasov.

Elizaveta Pasechnik/Maksim Nekrasov have split.
I am very excited for this new couple. I have been fan of Maxim since he skated with Ushakova and Vasilisa is one of the most expressive partners. I kinda manifested this since I lernt Valeri left her and one of her last following was Nekrasov. I bet Valeri did not expect that she will get the best partner possible in Russia in that short amount of time. Vasilisa is truly very ambitious and serious about her career, so is Nekrasov.

I don't know if it has been posted elsewhere here, but Danylo Siianytsia and Haley Scott have announced their new pairs partnership for the U.S. on Instagram, about 14 hours ago.

I'm not surprised to see Danylo find someone so quickly. Apparently, they will be training in Colorado? Haley was briefly partnered with Blake Eisenach earlier this year, and they were based in Colorado. I noticed recently that Blake was touring again in shows, so I wondered what happened to him and Haley's pairing. Blake maybe had a change of heart about continuing his competitive career? He skated with Megan Wessenberg for at least two seasons, at the Irvine, CA rink. Before that, he was a good pairs skater in juniors.

Danylo's longtime coach Trudy Oltmanns is posting video of the pair on instagram, so I assume they are with her in Minnesota.

Valtter is still going to skate in singles as local fed announced some days ago "Valtter Virtanen will start his season in Kazahkstan".
