Perm pairs clearly didn't prepare.

I'm not sure C/Y were expecting to be in the top 5, and certainly not a podium finish.
They probably could have been expecting the top 5 at least, it was between them and A/B the whole season long, but some coaches seem to think that preparing a gala if you are not sure you need one brings bad luck.

The weird Batman music part was really strange. I would have done without it. (And Dima's shirt. Hallowe'en, yes. Batman, no.)

Mark often skates his SPs with all the jumps. But I can't say it's good. Zhenya stopped jumping anything after two accidents except for the 2A and 3Lo. Sometimes he doesn't jump at all.

Oh that's why i had the impression he was skating a competition program. Hope he will have a gala next season.
I guess he didn't have the time or the will to prepare an EX. Realistically he knew he had a shot for top 5 and even podium.
