There is a point there. Sinitsina was overscored pretty hard but she is also not in peak shape. Evidently her StSq and choreo especially are extremely rough and she admitted it herself. I think in peak form though pushing 220 internationally is reasonable. She also claims she will jump ultra-c this season (maybe for Nats?) so we cant judge her yet.

I also think Frolova in her 2nd stage showed potential to beat out Kaori on a good day. Especially with Kaori's sub-par programs this season.

Sinitsia and Frolova's score would largely depend on geographical factors. I think score would be similar as to the Russian women's competition. Sinitsina and Frolova don't crawl to a stop when jumping, did relatively well rotating jumps, no glaring edge issues, so this would only help GOE.

Maya was a little high for PCS this is an error, but she is quite a captivating skater. When she skates I have always remembered her performances I can't say that for a lot of skaters. Frolova is maybe like an Amber Glenn, but really consistent (Glenn would be a killer with consistency) and minus the 3A (I like both skaters and I hope it's okay to mention international skaters in this thread).

The question is what would Sinitsina or Frolova get in international competitions? probably 205ish-210ish tops...
Which shows how the rest of the world, not going through this transition, hasn’t been improving.

And even Sinitsina, in her latest interview, said that she is trying to add a 4T to her repertoire in order to take her game to the next level.

Well, they're not catching up, Eteri juniors are still the best in all age categories. Maybe with some exceptions like Kostyleva but she's a story by itself and she used to train there too, anyway. But sure, Anna and Kamila are truly unique, they're hard to replace, of course.

As for lower number of posts and why this thread looks like a ghost town now, that's mainly because a lot of people left these forums, there have been several massive exoduses in the past years...
If not today, then one day. The TT run won’t last forever. But her legacy in this sport has definitely already been cemented.

No doubt the exodus of the die hards has hurt.

There is a lot of blame to go around for that. Posters that dished it out, but weren’t able to take it, mods that got trigger happy and banned a lot of the more passionate posters, and posters that took this way too seriously.

My personal position was to never take anything personally. I don’t mind hitting hard and don’t mind being hit hard in return.

I have PM’d posters that personally insulted me telling them that it’s all good and to continue doing what you are doing. I never once reported a post, and probably never will.

I’m not going to cry if someone doesn’t like Anna and thought Trusova was better or thought that Kostornaia was better than Big Liza. Whatever, believe what you want to believe, it’s your right.

Personally I miss the battles with the Trusova and Kostornaia rabid supporters. Haha

Talking about as I have said before a really enjoyed watching only Russian competitions too, but I just want the Russians return to see the different forums including another site in fire 🔥 😂

These are top level athletes and coaches. They will eventually figure it out. Never underestimate motivated athletes.

If I told someone years back that in less than a decade, the scores will hit 260 and above, nobody would have believed me.
I'm just not seeing anything justifying such belief.

If you watched/read interviews with Sergey Davydov, you know he's very down-to-earth coach, interested strictly in training process and performances, living in the moment, planning for nearest competition or season. Samodielkina left - so be it, Berestovskaya lost her drive - ok, whatever happens - he focuses only on things he may influence.
With one exception: in the second consecutive conversation, he recalls Anna Shcherbakova's name, sighing it's a pity she hasn't continued competing. I think he must deeply respect her talent and sporting character to publicly express such regret.

You have to give it a few years until the next crop or 2 come through.

One of the reason’s it doesn’t happen now is that most of the good ones are retired by 20.

The crop of this last cycle was the first of the quad generation let’s not forget. People are taking what they did and will improve on it.

Not a surprise. As chatty at TT was about everyone, not one piece of gossip about her was ever volunteered to the media. I mentioned this countless times.

It was one of the little underrated things that made her great. She was gossip and scandal free.

Focused on being the best she can be and didn’t bring any distractions to her coaches or herself.

I’ll take one when everyone else had one per day. Haha

Let her enjoy her retirement and monetize her accomplishments in her adult life.

Her getting close to Zagitova was a game changer for Anna I believe. She got to see how Zagitova did it, which is the gold standard of making money off your name after retirement.

She found a way to sell clothes to her fans. That’s a good revenge stream.

Yeah, Alina executed it perfectly, although she is pushing it lately.

Major rule changes, like the age being raised, need a few years for the great coaches to figure it out. And they will, there will be 20 plus year olds landing quads in no time.

The previous major rule change ushered in a new era in this sport, as it become way more athletic, faster and more technical than ever before. There was a bigger technical jump the last 10 years than there were the last 40 before.
TBH given how novices and juniors are still jumping quad after quad, getting close to 100 TES, i think 17 will become the new 15. After all, Trusova and Shcherbakova were jumping quads at 17 and won olys medals with them. Trusova could have even successfully landed quads after 18 imo, with more discipline. She was landing 4Lz in practice and shows just fine.
I can already see Rusfed putting all its coins on Zhilina if Russians are allowed to compete at next olys. And whatever current quadster who will be 17yo in 2030.
It isn't that i don't think that Russian coaches/Rusfed can't have a 20+yo landing quads. It's that they don't want to, because they don't need to, to keep winning medals, what is their main goal.

Do all the other forums hate Russians too? I thought it was just the classic liberal another site echo chamber.
