I know it's a bit of an unfair apples to oranges comparison as they were separate events, but if we aggregate the scores, the senior total scores in order would go

1. Browns
2. Wolfkostin/T
3. Pate/B
4. Flores/D
5. McNamara/S
6. Ling/W
7. Koncius/S
8. Kowar/S
9. M/Levitt

Juniors top 5 total scores hypothetically aggregated:

1. Neset/M
2. Peals
3. Mullens
4. Carhart/H
5. Pedersen/Chen

World Standings lists were updated and several American teams were removed:

  • Cesanek/Yehorov (likely confirms the retirement rumors)
  • Wolfkostin/Chen (split earlier this year)
  • Pham/Rogers (split earlier this year)
  • Flores/Tsarevski (split 1.5 years ago)
If Cesanek/Yehorov did indeed retire, then why haven’t they made an announcement by now???

^^^ They're not obligated to make any announcement. Some skaters "Like to leave their options open" or want to maintain some privacy and just live their lives without somebody thinking a casual skate is preparation for competing again.

I get what you are saying! As a fan of theirs since they have been Juniors, I will truly miss seeing them skate together. My ‘selfish self’ is just wanting to know if they are retiring, trying to change countries, or just sitting out for a year!

Flores/ Desyatov's FD, a closer view, is posted on YT by Bella's mother, Holly Flores. Plus, I see that FDs for teams at Lake Placid, have now been posted on Twitter by the South Korean fan account cited in the Lake Placid thread.

As well, photos from Lake Placid events are now up on icedance.com. I posted links in the Lake Placid thread.

Meanwhile, below is a review of Dallas Classic, on icedance.com, with a priceless podium pic. 👀 😘

Standing next to Ivan Desyatov, Bella Flores' smile vibes like, "I'm in my feels. Way up in the clouds somewhere... Don't know what's real..."
[Labrinth, The Feels]

Check those vibing lyrics, which someone posted in the comments section of the music video. Amazing!

They aren't obligated to make an announcement, but their webpage contains a link to donate to their training. If they know they are no longer training, IMHO they should take that link off.

The bolded part is very true. And this is a fair rundown. But obviously anything can happen over the course of the season. We haven't seen Bratti/ Somerville or Zingas/ Kolesnik yet. Although Z/K proved at U.S. Nationals that they are competitive close to the top.

Also, something to keep in mind is that F/D and W/T had free dance scores that were nearly three to nearly four points higher than the fd scores of both Pate/ Bye and the Browns. And, in the case of McNamara/ Spirodonov, F/D and W/T had fd scores that were nearly 7 to nearly 8 pts higher. However, the Browns and Pate/ Bye managed to stay ahead overall due to their RD performances that were scored about 3 to 5 points higher than F/D and W/T.

As we can also see in the scoring, McNam/ Spiro were edged by .60 in RD by Flo/Des, and of course, McN/Spir fell much further behind all of their American competitors in the FD. So, this indicates that mid-tier U.S. teams will have to battle tooth and nail for awhile to see who will emerge above the crowd, not only this season, but in tough seasons to come.

At the top, the battles between newcomers, Zingas/ Kolesnik against more established Car/Pon and Green/ Parsons, will also be hella fascinating.

Just a quick summary for age eligibility for the junior teams currently on the ISP and the season which is their last season of junior age eligibility. Most teams are aging out at the end of this season or next season. Epps/Gilman and Ilin/Cain are the babies who have eons of time left in juniors to develop.

Last Junior Season 2023/24
  • Carhart/Horovyii
  • Lavrova/Rogers
  • Pedersen/Chen
  • Bland/Sperry
Last Junior Season 2024/25
  • Neset/Markelov
  • Hauer/Starr
  • Peals
  • Mullens
Last Junior Season 2026/27
  • Epps/Gilman
Last Junior Season 2028/29
