Panetta/Thrasher probably didn't split up due to their struggles but due to her age and the competition they'd face in seniors. Jazmine is essentially three years younger than Chloe, so they can stay in juniors, where their struggles are completely within the normal scope of challenges most junior pairs face.
Maybe it was meant to be a joke, e.g. FS is like life, where men sometimes look for a younger version of their wife, break up the first relationship and end up being in a similar one

well.. there is not really anything to win at this event but pride. And since it's pride weekend here, I am going to win too theno-ho!

the point is, there's no immediate comparison which could be good when you're not super confident atm
or just generally too nervous in comps

in recent years, Marek has pretty much been skating alone at these smaller events... I don't think it made much of a difference. His issues, as he related himself, come from lack of training due to limited ice time. We will see how he does tomorrow...as he will be alone then too. We will also see if he does as well later in the season or if he gets nervous. Then, you winsure

That was an interesting lift fail, he literally stopped her from falling with his butt 
Honestly, there are some things they do very well, and then other things are very raw and unstable. To be very frank, and maybe this is unfair, I feel like they've been skating together for too long (over two years) to look this unsure about each other.
She seems like the stronger partner, if I'm not blinded by her charisma and aesthetic appeal.

Nic and Emma : upgraded their combo to 3loop-2t-2t YAY! THe loop is Nic's most beautiful jump (with the 3axel) so yeah. Happy that they are doing this !

Wow, what a strong skate 
Yes, doubled Salchow and they're missing a second triple throw, but otherwise that was basically perfect
