I just realized that I will not be there for juniors... oh well.
I checked the protocols for Thierry Ferland and his new partner (Secunda)
I have to say that, yes, it does take time to gel as a pairs team... but it must be difficult to have no triple twist, low levels on everything, not landing any triple jumps and the only element that seems to work out is the throw 3s. That's tough. I hope they improve by the time Challenge and Nationals come. And I hope this is a good partnership for Thierry in the long run. As a fan of Max, I know how long it can take to find the right partner and I hope he won't have to wait until he is 30... he is already 28...

wasn't she the first cut at some point ... I can't remember but I am having a déjà-vu moment
Last season I don't think she was on the bubble. I remember that she was the last qualifer for both sectionals and Challenge in 2023-24, so I wouldn't be surprised if she does it again.

It means that she created her own troubles here with the content
She didn't do the 3t at the end of the 2a... So, she thought, I am going to go for it again... and she ditched the lutz... (maybe she is not doing the lutz anyway with her injury???). but in any case, that second 2axel was not a good idea
She then was stuck and had to do a +1a after her flip. Maybe it's all about injuries and she cannot do triple toe and triple lutz yet... but her triple flip at the opening was gorgeous... one Canadian woman who has actually mastered the fake flip

Aleksa started out so well... At last really suits her. I don't think they should have changed the music. Her troubles came with the music change too.... I don't think she wanted to double the lutz but then, she was too slow going into it... so it was the right thing to do... The salchow was off axis.... pogo fall... and then, the final flip-axel... well I think she doesn't have her triple flip back after injury.
