The Quebec Sectionals competition for Juniors and Seniors is the qualifying event for "Challenge" which itself serves as the qualifying event for Canadian Nationals. They will be held in Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce, from November 6 to November 9, 2025. This event is sanctioned by Skate Canada and will be conducted in accordance with the Skate Canada competitive rules.

I've gone through the entries for QMS minimums:
Men
Youssef Hanna will need to score 44.5 TES in the free to advance to Challenge

Pairs
Secunda/Ferland and Graves/Pierro are making their debut, both teams will need to score 38 TES in the free to advance to Challenge

Ice Dance
All teams have their minimums, with 5/6 having a bye.

Women
Any woman who does not have QMS beside their name will need to score at least 40 TES in the free and finish top 8 to advance. Blais and Dupuis have byes.

14 of the 24 21 women competing at sectionals have the QMS with 8 spots available, may the odds be ever in the favour.

Women
Anyone who does not have QMS by their name will need to score 35.5 TES in the free and finish top 8 (not including Camila Volkova) to advance for certain. Earning the QMS will get them a chance to be considered as an additional entry for Challenge if they are not in the top 8.

I hopefully didn't miss any of them since several have moved up from Novice for this season.

Withdrawals

Senior Pairs - Graves/Pierro, they're out of Challenge without having the QMS

Junior Men - Liam Schmidt and Enryck Legault are showing as withdrawn. They have the QMS, so they can go to Challenge if they're able to compete.

More withdrawals.

Senior Men
Yousef Hanna (needed QMS to advance to Challenge, Quebec is back to two Senior Men)

Senior Women
Rose Theroux
Lorie-Anne Pelchat
Isabelle Marie Verza-Vulcu

Not surprised about Rose, but still :( Hopefully next season she'll be healthy and can compete.

I'm catching the end of Junior Men. For some reason I thought it was after the Senior Men. TES box showed up for Tommy Liu. He looks like he's having fun, going from Owner of a Lonely Heart to Michael Jackson.

Senior Men warming up now. They called Anthony and Eddy out too early, they get called out again after they started warming up.

Vasii - 3S hand down, 3lz-3T. Step out on the 3A. Lost GOE on his change sit spin, gets some back in the step sequence.

Tripled to a valid jump, he was doubling it in the free so it was good for his first time trying it in the short (y)
I watched the replay. I am happy he managed the combo.. that's also something he has issues with.

Anthony : single axel botched combo... saved by spins and PCS but he needs to get better with the jumps. The loop was gorgeous. I thought he would have a good one.

He's lucky that Eddy is still messy because with cleaner jumps, Eddy would be miles ahead

I rewound the stream for Secunda/Ferland. Maybe by Janis Joplin. 2Tw to open, she falls on the 3S. Lands the 3STh. Spins are out of sync. And then I get a playback error with no video but still getting the sound since the stream ended. Sigh.

Ontario is running behind for Senior Women, so I can watch Megane's short. Very confident in her jumps and presentation here, everything looked good. I think that's the best short I've seen from her so far. 60.48

Fée Ann Landry SP

Huge double axel to start
Fall on triple salchow ( I think she is aiming for 3s-3t)
Flying sit 4
3f... realized she needed to combo, 3 turn, 2toe
Combo spin 2
Steps 2
Layback 3

She's not to thrilled but not too angry lol

50.17. She was in third place. I didn't rewind further because I need to eat... but I suspect Justine is one of the two skaters ahead of her...
