2023 European Championships Women's Short Program

Always funny how the tech panel manages to see Lutz edge issues for skaters like Anastasia, but not for other skaters with very similar edges.

She's just missing the SP minimums for Worlds (by 0.70), but she's not getting them today (she honestly should have gotten them at World Universiade, still salty about that).

That's a point, when is the cut-off for getting the minimums for Worlds? Just wondering so that we can work out which competitions between now and then will be available as an opportunity to get them.

The cut-off is the 27th of February, the last competition to get minimums for all four disciplines will be Challenge Cup (February 23-26 in the Netherlands).

What?! Resurfacing already. I thought it would be the final group that was on it's own, not the first.

Oh, wouldn't it have been more sensible to have six groups of 5 rather than five groups of 6. But, I know, the rules were written in a way that is not flexible enough to allow for that.

In the past, that would have indeed been the case, but they switched it around this season.

I only know that because Ted was very adamant about pointing that out before the ice resurfacing in every single discipline at Canadian Nationals.😁

Good question, actually. The time needed would be the same. Would the judges and the audience prefer to watch groups of 5 or of 6? 🤔

Then again, a WD in a group of 5 would be more noticably felt.

I think it is because people from school and work can make it here. And originally there should have been 6 groups but because of withdraws there is only 5. Btw those are real zambonis here.

I'm going to hold my tongue about the rotation calls and Mia's score because once I start, I'm not going to stop.🙃

At least she already has her Worlds minimums.
Well I was prepared and it seems the panel is strict with anyone (if they continue with that), so I don´t feel so mad about it. Glad she has the minimums indeed, it´s always difficult to achieve them at Championships.

Actually the technical controller is from Norway, so you can be sure there isn´t any biased judging here :laugh:
