It's a shame the jumps deserted Nina in the middle of the program. I liked her intensity but it's a program that needs to be clean for it to have an impact as it builds.

Well, she got through the program without any major disasters, and that already makes this a very good skate for her.

Unfortunately, quite a few little issues on the landings though which will keep her GOE down a bit, all of them looked a bit tight and stuck to the ice, not a lot of speed and flow on most of them. Still, this is a big achievement for her.

Niina is an exciting young skater to watch - she has been served so well by her music choices this season, which highlight her energy and power. A well-deserved level 4 for the step sequence - the falling leaf at the end timed nicely with the music - and I was impressed by the one-foot work coming out of her layback spin. Loved her twizzling into her ending position. She will be so much fun to follow as she continues to grow as a skater. And she secures two spots for Estonia at Worlds next year!
