The deduction is to prevent misuse
a) you shall make sure your costume is appropriate and won't come loose
b) you shall not "use" an interruption to regain breath and continue

Ok I literally can’t imagine that ever happening. Someone purposefully doing such a thing. If they’re having the skate of their life it will harm them and if they’re not it’s not going to help them much. The NFL has better safety rules than skating.

Think about skaters not drinking out of a normal bottle

I think we had the topic with Budapest Trophy and... an American skater which name just escapes me.
Any interruption just requires the mandatory deduction and it's a fix value iirc?

Maxim Naumov. He received a deduction of -3 in that competition.
I remember there was some discussion where people thought it would be higher - but here at junior worlds it's -5

Makar presented a very nice program! It's his final junior worlds before turning senior and so sad to see it end like that for him!
