AzuShin got the memo and delivered! My jams:love2: (well, EW&F and Stevie).

The wicked Pickett isn't quite the same era, but still great music. (fun fact, at Spousal Unit's college prom, the Byrds, Wilson Pickett and an act he doesn't remember performed. Quite a combo ;) )

Ilia Malinin SP

Running by NF. I'm crying, but it's not tears of joy.

I think it should be given a chance. He skated with so much passion to "Hope." He might show that same passion to "Running." He clearly likes the artist. And one will be happy to skate to music by an artist they like.

We need more programs that has out-of-the-box music.

Speaking of tears, I actually had tears in my eyes from seeing the "Hope" EX be skated at the Gold on Ice show. The combo of the passion shown and the lyrics of the song got me in the feels.

Here you go. First look. Not my cup of tea, but it's fine. This is why the mute button was invented.

My friend, we will be unpopular, but I must agree with you.

"SadBoi" music worthy of the junior men. Maybe it's my advancing years, but I can't tell the difference between all the Sad Boi music that the junior men for example love, and this one is particularly unmusical to my ears (and mine only). I find this unworthy of Ilia.

But if his fans like it, then good for him. I don't have to like all the music out there. :)

I mean, at least it's not Carmen, POTO, R+J, Four Seasons, Sound of Silence, etc. Unique is good (Most of the time. Jorik Hendrickx's FP to voiceovers from Titanic in the 2015-16 season was not the best choices).

Question though, would My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, etc be considered sad boi?

I don't know those groups. I would need to listen to the particular song. :)

I agree that it's not a warhorse, which is good. I also agree if that Ilia likes it, that is very important.

For me (and again this is a matter of taste and I am not saying that my tastes, and my tastes alone, are the only ones worth listening to) the junior men tend to skate to songs with: monotonous music, that sort of rambles, then eventually comes to climax, but takes a while to get there. The singers tend to be men with higher pitched voices that sound, I'm sorry, whiny. (And personally I love, love, love, men with high voices. My very fav of all time, Philip Bailey tenor/falsetto lead for EWF, very high voice. Not scratchy and not whiny like the sad bois I've heard.

Way too much information, I know. But I've seen other people on social media call that kind of music "sad boi", so I am not alone. ;)
