Hopefully, by the time I catch up on pairs and dance, singles shorts will be archived.

hmm, Lena missed a level on a spin, but other than that, she was great! And she finally got a stsq4 (and had the highest pcs here). Will be interesting to see what happens in the free. But geez, what's happened with Prineva? She didn't used to fall on triples like that? Was it just a fluke trip?? :frown:

She messed up countless triples last season too. Shes an extremely nervous skater. Did you watch or just check the scorecards? Twas a knee slide entry into a flip so I'm not surprised she fell. She was in good spirits afterwards anyways BTW.

Prineva looks fine though I think she just needs more experience. I wouldn't be surprised if she improved since last season. We'll see tomorrow. The FS will show us a lot more.

Ah, well, that's good. I remember her falling on plenty of quads, but not triples.

She reminds me a bit of Daria sadkova, like same “kind of skater”. Very graceful and thin but nervous and unstable.
Still, the beauty and grace of Alena on ice is unbeatable. Always a gem to watch.

I don’t really agree with you on Alisa. Maybe a bit nervous but I felt her in great shape and I’m not worried about tomorrow. She’s on another level in term of maturity, she needs to be upgraded to senior.

Lena is shiniinng 🌟 I love her presence on ice and her speed. Seems in good shape too.

Tomorrow’s match will be fire

She wasnt bad at all. She was best of the night easily (like I predicted). If it was almost anyone else I'd compliment them but I have higher standards for Alisa. Just compared to her potential she seemed nervous. I mean she literally almost tripped and the 2A was hard. But thats totally normal for first start. I am not worried for her she is fine physically and should be set for finals. I still enjoyed her program.

Yes Alisa has long been far ahead in regards to maturity and sophistication. She was senior level last season already. She is 16 though which makes her older than most juniors.

I agree on the comparison. Physically especially and technically. I think Daria has the potential to be as graceful as Alena, but Alena has gotten better music which allowed her to show more. Such as the black swan and her current SP (too bad about her FS). Alena is probably the most graceful and delicate junior, also most flexible, shes stunningly talented. Daria needs some classical to show maximum gentleness. Her potential is insane she is extremely flowy, flexible and strong its an incredibly rare combination. She has some things Alena doesnt. She also shows strong emotions I like her J'taime program honestly she sells it well imagine what she could do with a powerful romantic symphony.

Sick dog woke me up in the middle of the night, so I caught the last group of girls. Lena had some small mistakes, and seemed a tad tired, but she was still wonderful. There is just something about her skating that is so exciting. HUGE score. Alisa also was very good, missed the lutz but hit the toe 4.

Lena's main problem is that she skates completely separately of the music
Lena seems to be in too big of a hurry to grow up, she just turned 13, and both her SP and LP are questionable music choices. Voila is to mature, and the FS music is too big for her at this stage. I've seen her inhabit the music like no other skater, but she just overshot on her music this year. Her personality on the ice is one of her biggest assets, and neither one of these programs allow her to exploit that. Young skaters like to experiment though, and next year let's hope she finds more appropriate music.

Molodyets, Lev!!! Beautiful skater, beautiful programme, beautiful performance ❤️❤️❤️ What a score!
Sasha Semkov is really coming into his own this season. I like it
Eduard did well despite some wobbly jumps - his Les Mis is a personal favourite.
Gleb Kovtun looks very Senior these days (y)

Completely agree. Lena is so tiny and fragile, Bach is too big for her. And it’s sad since she has a huge artistic potential. I hope she can grow healthy to develop this incredible potential.

Shame it didn’t work out for Alena but what’s more worse is her program!! Wtf is that! I didn’t remember it being so bad!! Her full potential is absolutely not exploited (sadly).

I hope Alisa isn’t disappointed because despite the mistakes, it was a very good performance (and that 4T 😱). She was the best for me (I preferred her program and her presentation)

Kostyleva takes back the FS after losing SP, as predicted.

Well, these two were supposed to be the fire under Bazyluk's feet but it seems the latter remains in total competitive isolation.

This stage is by far the most informative. We now have all the junior competition understood and seniors is an even larger data mine with these top 4.

Hmm, well, Lena's fp has improved, but it is still very much a jumping drill, which I guess is inevitable. Shame, since I had such high hopes based on the chsq that was initially posted.

Not sure if she should really be 3rd here, but Prineva is still a lovely skater, but I don't think she's landed a quad once in competition this season. Of course, her quads were always pretty hit and miss, but it seems to have gotten worse this season. Perhaps due to growth? Seems like she's already taller than Alisa (though, she's quite short). I still don't like her programs...imo, Andreeva got the best set of programs out of the crystal juniors

Apart from obvious favorites, Lazarev and Kostyleva, I loved Lebedeva and Kovtun a lot! Also, the trio of Siberian junior women skated very well. Oh, and nepo-babies or not, I liked Slutskaya's FD and Tikhonova's SP. The pairs were less stellar than usual, but that's just me being spoiled, I think.

In case anyone asks as usual Krasnoyarsk is exactly 12 hours ahead of EST. Very easy conversion this time.

So ladies at 16:50 means 4:50 AM
