Surely there is a fine Russian-trained pairs man somewhere who would welcome the chance to skate internationally for another federation. Minerva Hase found one, they are out there (now that I think of it—so did Katie McBeath—though I’m somewhat less impressed by him)

Come to think of it, even if we got a Russian man for Hyejin he wouldn't be able to compete in time to fight for a spot in Milano, so maybe this hypothetical man can come to us late... (sigh) When Steven arrived I genuinely had the hope of a team event medal, now they are dashed and I need my darling to win gold at the Winter Asian Games so he can get exempted from military training
