2024 CS Nepela Memorial Free Dance

So... the disaster one foot steps aside... I think they're settling into the program, I liked it much more than at Budapest. But despite that and the fact that Juulia is as beautiful as the moon and the stars it's not going to top my favorite T/V programs list (deep sigh) I do appreciate them trying new stuff nonetheless

Dianas jumpsuit is amazing, they look very rock and roll
i agree on the jumpsuit, it is amazing, but i have to disagree with the rock and roll

and this is how you looked rock and roll in the 70s

So... maybe my brain is fried on caffeine and lack of sleep, but I feel like this is a F/G type program? Not talking about the Disco Brit vibes, the placements of the elements and the tricks they use remind me of F/G a lot. Flashy acrobatic lifts and choreo steps, for instance... but I like this program a lot less than F/G's Beyonce FD, which I do not love in the first place

So...120. Don't even know what to say.
F/G's FD feels...random. Watching it makes me wonder if choreography was put first or if music was put together first.
Oh Beatrice, I am willing to bet my left hand that they started with the Crazy In Love choreo steps and built up the program from there

what program ? another too easy to make joke ;)

but seriously, they've had "programs" before... even if they were gimmicky borderline over the top tacky... but this year... it's the same vibe but no program.... I think i preferred the over the top cheese to no cheese when it comes to these two.

205?

my exact same feelings
Current system is designed for such programs imho, but I find those 3 pieces put together in hurry and without any cohesion apart from being Beyonce's songs. I get, there is desire for EX-like programs and this is their style, but for me it's a head-scratcher. I am not fun person though, maybe that's why.

That's hitting the nail on the head, Rocky was a program, jump rope miming and pushups and all, but this really is all very random as Beatrice said and not a cohesive whole... (deep sigh)

I do feel that the system is moving towards flashy randomness that is not about cohesive concept, with splash of pageantry.
Basically, my sentiment looking at the last 2 FDs in person is that you cannot tell what was first, choreo or music because the music is built from pieces that often do not correlate or provide narration/sense of continuity. So I can imagine the flashiest program, full of acro tricks and posing, put together first and then finding background, which frankly will never be my sort of thing as someone who is about musical sensibility.
I like me some 'cool' trick or two, BUT it has to be done in synch with the music to fully appreciate it AND reflect on the theme/storyline/design chosen.
I have a lot of thoughts after seeing ID in person at Nepela. Mostly pessimistic lol.

and lastly - once I got info about Beyonce medley, I started to think how I would put such program myself, what story I'd like to tell through which songs, how I want to make is ONE. I remember that on top of my head I thought about All Night and Superpower, but as I mentioned - I'm not fun person.

Can someone tell me who the top 5 were please? The results aren’t up yet and I couldn’t get F/G or D/S FDs on YouTube. I’m assuming it was:
F/G
D/S
S/D
T/V
D/L ?

Thank you!
