Wow. I didn't know about the anthem! Btw. Polish and that older Yugoslavian anthems have similar melodies. I love my anthem but Rota that was close to becoming our national anthem would be even more epic! Check this out!

The issue though would be with the lyrics: too religious and too ... anti-German I think. There's even a line about not being willing to let Germans spit in our face, woah. Btw. the anthem was written and considered well before WW2.

I can't say I'm a big fan of the song that is used as Northern Ireland's anthem. "Danny Boy" is a pub song, not a national anthem!

By the way, Liechtenstein uses the same tune as the UK for their national anthem (and Germany used to too, before they nicked what had been Austria's anthem). I was a massive fan of Tina Weirather, so it was surreal whenever she won races and I heard what I consider the British anthem!

It's the fourth verse, IIRC. Nobody ever sings it.
Anyway it goes:

Feigin has improved quite a lot when I compare this skate to what I got used to seeing. Tech elements were polished and her presentation far more compelling too.

It is true that the Polish anthem mentions Italy? Because the Italian anthem mentions Poland (while dissing Austria), and I read somewhere that the Polish anthem reciprocates.

As I just found out when I read the translation of the lyrics of the Polish anthem, it does indeed! In the chorus, no less:

March, march, Dąbrowski
From Italy to Poland
Let us now rejoin the nation
Under thy command​

They mention Sweden too in a later verse!

Spanish music in figure skating is always pretty generic, but I enjoy Mikutina very much, I really think she's my favourite European skater of the last years. Glad the jumps worked out more or less.
