Nastya is a very frustrating skater for me. She's so good when she's on - a lovely performer, great grace within her movement, and gorgeous landing positions on her jumps. That first half was really wonderful. But whenever she makes a mistake, you can see her check out, and she often tends to give less at the end of the program when she's tired - I know stamina has been a real issue at her training camp. That step sequence was at about 60% of her ability - the choreography was nicely done but she wasn't fully into it, and a skater at her caliber should not be getting a level 2 or have such slow spins to finish. I think this program has a lot of potential, as does she, but tonight was not her night.

Love the giant stuffie!

I'm saving the pave chocolate for the men, that's the big dope there

You do what you must, to get through!

Nastia a little disappointed, I think, but she was really skating positively at the start of the programme, and her jumps looked good to my inexperienced eye. I dropped off for the two bad jumping passes (had a long morning and less than 5 hours' sleep), but woke to the sound of Mark's "Oh no". Loved the gigantic hippo.
