I love the dress for Nina - it's gorgeous - and the program outside of the voiceovers is spectacular. Here, it lost some of the magic because of the mistakes, but her ability to hit all of the piano notes and build tension with such a quiet piece of music is remarkable. Those jumps are still plaguing her - she's just getting too tight and landing flat and stiff in the knee, and so she has lower GOE and is struggling to get those jumps around and comfortable. She says that this is just a competition issue, so hopefully she can fix it and figure out the root cause.

But...

Benoit... what the actual f is the explanation for this program. It sounds like he had one too many special grasses and is sitting there like "mmm yeah beneath the waves, divine gift, final gasp... it's really deep when you think about it...". It's especially odd considering the voiceover about suicide in the beginning from The Handmaid's Tale. Also why is there a train?

Made me think of Medvedeva's Anna Karenina program.

Nina's opening jumps were really solid, and her spins are so fast. The Biellmann and her I-spin really show off her flexibility. Today wasn't her day, but she'll bounce back - she's a quality skater.

I don't think it is about suicide but rather not giving in to despair in a tough situation. No idea why there is a train other thn to signal that you cannot avoid change. I imagine for her it is puberty.

Beyond all this speculation, she has lovely expression and timing and beautiful stretch and sensitivity to her music. Any mistakes always mar such a delicate program. I like Nina and her programs. She is a thoughtful skater and I respect that.
