2024 ISU International Adult Competition | Oberstdorf | May 12-17

Annette KONSTANZER (DEU) was wearing a very different dress. It was completely white at the front, and completely black at the back.

Unfortunately, she fell early on.

Then I realised something that came as a shock - she was skating to "Smells Like Teen Spirit"! :jaw:

I didn't recognise it because it was a really slowed down female cover. And I wasn't fussed on it.

She goes into 3rd position.

From a Nirvana cover, we move to the real Carlos Santana. Kerry NOVICK (USA) was skating to "Smooth".

I really enjoyed it.

She goes into 4th position.

As soon as she came out, I knew this was going to be a bundle of fun from Gabriele HUTTER (DEU).

Any description I could do of her outfit would not do it justice. She was wearing a black dress, with a pea green T-shirt over it. A pea-green hair band, black gloves, pink stockings and yellow socks.

She was skating to "Live Is Life" by Opus.

And I LOVED IT!!!

She goes into 4th position.

Has Midori Ito skated yet? Sorry if the question is clueless, have been mega busy with my own skating with no vacation day since 1 week ago and have had no time to follow this competition

There is a competition of 8 skaters starting now. And then Midori's competition is on after that. She is the third of three skaters.

I don't expect there to be any resurfacings until after her competition. But, they have caught me out before.

Excellent! I'm still not sleepy, another busy day tomorrow, but will hopefully stay awake to watch and root for Midori :) Thank you!!

Didn't get a chance to comment on the final skater of the competition that just finished.

Maggie HARDING (USA) was skating to "Earth Song" by Michael Jackson. And she was wearing a jumpsuit that was in the colours of the Earth. It looked impressive.

I enjoyed the programme.

She wins.

I don't know this lady, but her blue dress is so pretty :)

I take it you are talking about the opening skater, Elizabeth McGLAUFLIN (USA). Because I thought exactly the same!

I don't know what it is about this event, but all the blue dresses I have seen this week have been very pretty. In fact, most of the dresses have been.

Wow does Edwina Lewis have 6 coaches?:oops:

No, no, no. Most of the skaters are accompanied by their team-mates, their family, skaters from other countries...

There is a great sense of camaraderie at this event. Which I love!

Rock & roll lady is great!! Don't like the music but love her. her skating and dress

"Bohemian Rhapsody" is my favourite song of all time...

That said, there are very few programmes to it that I like, because it is so hard to edit it down cleanly. But, I did like this programme by Tina PRETORIUS (GBR).

Her dress is gorgeous!

She goes into 2nd position.

Oh wow .... in the competitions I've participated, only my coach sits next to me in the kiss & cry, when there is one 😅

I'd love to go to Oberstdorf one of these years, but wouldn't be taking all this entourage, only my coach next to me is fine (and my husband in the audience) 🤣

That was a very different programme for Stefania CALEGARI (ITA).

No music at all. Just vocals.

Is it some sort of traditional ritual chant? I have no idea! But, it made me think of the traditions of New Zealand, or a Pacific island.

Whatever it was, it made for a very interesting and fascinating programme.

She has a big crowd with her. Including those familiar faces that come out to support all of their team-mates.

Ach, I didn't catch what position she went into! :bang:
