2024 JGP Bangkok Women's FS

She's clearly been taught that she isn't ever allowed to show emotion. :(
Wow, that sounds so weird, what do you mean? If you watch other Chinese skaters you can find them to be pretty emotional when winning, so the lesson is only for her? By the way, she just delivered her average performance, and you know that skaters can be calm without training?

Wang:Same as short.Technique is there, but where is choreo? And smile after you win :)

Takagi:Clean and good skate.Really worked hard in second stage.Great choreo.Much better to watch than short. Also great navy blue dress.Simply, but on point for the music.

Okada:Same as short.Nothing impressive, but she looks better in this program.

Jia:I don't know.It looks soft and delicate like it should be for princess, but still something is missing.Second part was complete mess. She is falling Lutz her super jump from last leason. Both programs fells kinda akward tbh.We need more from her to safe that coaching staff changes.

Oh it's not like that, that's her personal style, I think that's pretty cute. Shiqi GAO is in the same training group with her, but GAO loves to smile.
Yes. Gao is one of those other two Chinese girls that can contend. Unfortunately, she only has one spot. The Chinese JGP will be the toughest one of the season.

If I was Japanese or Korean or the Estonian/French girl contending for the JGP finals, I would avoid the event in China. I hope the other two Chinese girls don’t knock out Yihan from contention in China. But, Yihan hasn’t faltered at any event. So, I trust Yihan will be at the Finals.

Takagi only went for one triple twice. Does she not understand that she can go for two different triples twice? Cost her a 190+ score. Her layout can be better.

What has happened to US Junior ladies lately i mean they continue with their mediocre results. How long since they last won a medal even China who hasn't done anything in ladies skating for over two decades seems to be doing better and even European countries not considered a power are getting their skaters on the podium. Whatever the USFS is doing is not working.

The last Junior women to win a medal on the JGP for the US were Elyce Lin-Gracey (silver) and Sherry Zhang (bronze) at JGP Yerevan last season. That's pretty recent.

There's four more events to go, they can still get on the podium given how the results have been going.

Stunning FS by Yihan Wang..
I totally loved but was puzzled by her music listed as Igor Stravinsky s Firebird. I am no expert regarding this music by any stretch but the cut she used is not familiar to me. Can anyone enlighten me?

You were probably looking at the other Yihan Wang, who skates to Firebird in FS this season. Yihan's (the girl at this event) FS music is from the soundtrack of "The Grandmaster", a 2013 martial arts movie. These are two Chinese junior ladies with the exact same first and last names (even the exact same Chinese characters 王一涵;)).

the other two Chinese girls both capable of scoring over 180 in domenstic competitions. So the result in JGP China should be more difficult to predict.

Yo has had issues delivering clean free skates in the past, so perhaps her team decided to water down her jump content a bit to help her do a clean skate.

And it definitely has been working well so far this season. Her team might increase the content now that Yo has found her consistency, and losing the gold here despite 2 clean programs might also fuel her up🔥

Many thanks to labgoat for saving my bacon and providing me a link that showed everyone but the offending skater. While I dont agree with the results, the skating was great. Yihan was brilliant technically even with no 3-3 but her artistry...especially her facial expression, left much to be desired. Lets hope the trick shooter aquires the artisty of a LuLu.

Yes, Shiqi GAO even has a 199.95 in domenstic competition, but that's in Sr group so there's one more StSq. She also has scores over 190 in Jr this season though. But she's not as stable as Yihan.
