Wow, that was so great! They may still have a double twist, but the rest of this team's elements have improved so much! They have great skating skills, the lifts are so good now, and the throws are looking more like throws and less like assisted jumps! The program is also so well-constructed! I am so proud of this team for sticking together through the rough times, because they are so close to getting those TES mins! Hopefully that tech score holds!

Way to get things going! I love pairs. Another promising pair for Japan. Love how their speed continued throughout the lift.

A good start to the competition. I remember this one time when Moriguchi placed 7th at Nationals in singles and I had jokes for days.

Very nice skate for them! Gorgeous sbs triple loops, very nice unison early on the spins. A bit glitchy for her in the footwork and a nice safe 2Tw. Very musical and enjoyable program. Cmon judges, let's get them those minimums.

Martins and Bedard -- sentimental favorite for me. His grandfather was the men's gymnastics coach at my high school (several years ago!). Acchch, costly mistake on the lift.

I love the program - I'm a fan of these unique music choices for pairs and I think this program will be really effective when clean. It's a shame that this wasn't their best outing- the injury, the late preparation time, and the excitement of your first GP is a lot. Hopefully they can have a redemption free.

Computer took far too long to start up (every day it is going so slow, and freezing a lot, so I reckon it's dying), so not only did I not get even get started the Fan Fest stuff I wanted to get done before the Pairs started, but I missed the start!

Consequently, I'll do the Fan Fest stuff now, and then play catch-up on the Pairs. And hopefully be caught up before the girls start.
