2025 NHK Trophy Pairs Free Skate

Fair score. Honestly, the second worst FS of the competition but their reputation gave them some points. Lovely costumes though and overall good competition.

I think "try" is the operative word though. They are generally very very ugly. The Japanese and Italian teams here ( especially the Japanese) are among the best and least cringe inducing.
the Italians didn't do them well.

The teams who do them well

Yuna Sumi

Minerva and Nikita (except at SCI)

and ... Trennt and Lia... when they don't mess them up... they can do them very beautifully.

I want to ban the +2a in pairs. I am okay with them in singles.. but not in pairs. the timing is too off... there is a reason why almost no teams (except MTM 2.0 who did it briefly and MG) were doing the Euler combos in pairs... timing is too difficult... and it's the same with the sequence. I hate it :)

that lift was not good. he almost dropped her.

that music is boring. sorry.

I was the biggest sui han fan 4 years ago. not this year. I don't think they should win this. to me, they should end in third place.
And they did!

meh...japanese food is better. than Italian food... :). sorry Niccolo :) (okay I am just kidding, I like them both)

They really truncated the Japanese translation of their comments on their last question. 😂

What are those toys skaters get and also at the k&c corner?

so they didn't talk about the food ? LOL
They kept the part about the food being delicious, but I think they were just summarizing Macii's comments.

The brown toy the skaters received is Domo, the mascot of the NHK TV network (hence the name NHK Trophy). The other toys are also mascot characters from the network, although I don't remember their names.

The gray rabbit is Mr. Usaji (or Usajii). The yellow bear may be Tashanna. Much googling and peering at pictures was needed to come up with those names.

Perhaps the Japanese skating federation officials don't get custody of the mascots between competitions; they may go back to NHK for safekeeping.

If you Google NHK trophy kiss and cry you can see a picture of the mascots wearing their masks. I can't link it here.
