Ed Sheeran, his salchow, spin unison issues and ice grey costumes aside, that was a very nice skate for this Dutch team. They had a nice presentation and crispness to them. Very likeable duo. Great throw.
6 Ellie KAM / Danny O'SHEA Rain, in Your Black Eyes by Ezio Bosso, choreo by Drew Meekins
3Tw3
3S
3LoTh (holds on, crazy lift entry)
BoDs
CCoSp2 (little out of sync on upright, Danny puts foot down early on change to upright and travels)
StSq (just fantastic both choreographically and performance-wise)
4Li4 (so so good!)
SP: 69.15 (2nd)
This program is really fantastic - Danny and Ellie are incredible skaters, and the transitional content in this program is remarkable. They finally seem to have found their groove - those SBS jumps and throws are firing at last. I think Danny got a little too excited after she landed that throw, hence the spin mistake - he almost threw her into the stands on that step sequence opening choreo lift.
Okay, a musical excuse for black on black costumes. They'll have to be good to make me not think of Javi all the way through this bit... and they're a bit staid so far.
7. Annika HOCKE / Robert KUNKEL I Love Rock n Roll, Black Betty, choreo by Anna Cappellini, Luca Lanotte
3Tw3
3S (holds on from both of them)
3LoTh
4Li4
BoDs2
StSq4
CCoSp4 (out of sync for quite a bit of the spin)
SP: 67.37 (3rd) SB
This program is so much fun, and it works even better in a packed stadium like this with a clean skate. Annika looked like she was having a ball from the first note, and I love how Robert encouraged the crowd to clap for them.
I'm not sure that they should've gotten positive GOE on the spins (it may change after the review though) but I root for them, with some luck they might manage a podium finish..?
