Well, both teams looked far stronger in the short, but they did enough to keep the lead. I think I remain the most impressed by E/M here.

I can't get over the improvement from this team during the off-season! Their twist has gotten so much cleaner on the catch - they still catch on the shoulder but it's so much cleaner and higher than it was in the past. Riku's SBS jumps are also a lot cleaner and more consistent than in seasons past. I love the drive of the program and the use of the PCoSp on the music change. That energy at the end of the choreo sequence and doing that lift at the end from a kneeling entry is just insane!

where is Jason??? The decision is mine!

I understand what Jason was trying to say with this music, but am not sure why they chose this music. I want them to skate as long as they want.

Probably not who you are thinking of, but Koshiro Shimada did. I remember it vividly because I attended Junior Worlds that year and a Japanese woman sitting next to me threw flowers onto the ice for Shimada and also accidentally threw her cell phone. It's one of my favorite live skating moments ever.

OMG, M/K finally have decent music! Thank goodness for new choreographers. I really enjoyed the first and last third, especially from him. As always I love their speed. They still need to get it together on the jumps though.

Japanese had a mistake on rittberger throw but their throw lutz was great! You'd rather expect the mistake on the second throw as in theory it's a more difficult element. Their speed and the interpretation of music were on point for me. They had a couple more smaller mistakes but nothing as big as that landing on their first throw.

That fall on the throw 3Lo was terrifying, (mostly) every else top notch. I still feel like they haven't yet found a program that really profoundly suits them, but this one was nice enough.

An uncharacteristic fall. Darn. Such a good energy. Usually I don't like that overhead splits move, but it looks good on her. Couple errors. Still nice job. Good decision to get away from the Julie Marcotte choreo.

R & R truly are a pairs team and skate like a pairs team. Even with mistakes, good for them!

And thank the skating gods they are getting peppy energetic music, which suits them.

I'm always thinking of a Japanese skater who was choreographed by Stephane Lambiel, but I can't remember which one it was. Only remember that I totally loved it.
