a fair result, that clean SP helped keep them in silver, and a really great reaction (as always)

A really good skate from Conti/Macii, they have been improving so much throughout the season and are looking so strong heading into their home Olympics! They're nowhere near as fast as Miura/Kihara and Metelkina/Berulava, but they've been the most invested in the music of those we've seen so far, and have great energy throughout this program. It's going to be very close between them and Hase/Volodin, the slightly tight footwork on the lifts, as well as the lower skating skills score, will see them behind in the FS. However, they are on the podium, which is a huge achievement for this team and will be a huge boost for the second half of the season.

I might have had their FS a little bit lower but imo the skating skills and quality gap between them and Conti/Macii merits the win, I am biased but Niccolo was a bit tight on their lifts tonight which cost them some critical GOE points

A little bit nervy but they held on! That SBS jump error and loop step out will keep it close, but this team deserves the highest PCS scores of the event. I really love this program, and they've added in more transitional complexity. When combined with their high GOEs and superb skating skills, this program just oozed quality. This program is so effective, even with a few little errors.
