2025-26 Russian Grand Prix Final

Random thoughts: channel one must be rich rich to afford all these retired skaters as interviewers/presenters.

Scherbakova has the nicest voice.

The problem is not GOEs. Dina and Kamilla have problems with non-jumpings elements and PCS.
PCS were low but ok for what they did imo (though i would have given a little more to Kamilla).
Kamilla's three level 3 made her lose around 1.70 i think. Still would have been under 75 with max BV. Her jumps GOEs were low if we compare with Alisa who got more GOEs. I think she actually has better jumps.
Dina step seq made her lose 1.30 on BV. Could get 75 with a level 4 yes.

I think are OK for what they did. I meant that is the core problem of their low scores. You can't expect 75 with 7s in PCS.

I didn't mean just levels. Kamilla has no layback. Dina had wonky Camel that still got level 4 but she lost GOE on it.

It’s the main state broadcaster, the budget is there’s no budget basically. (And also, if they ask you to come, idk if anyone would have the guts to say ‘no unless you pay me more’.)

Not Mura missing levels...be serious, queen 😔 but at least she landed everything!
She hasn't gotten StSq4 all season. They robbed her of spin level at Nats in the FS. This time I'm not sure what happened. She had at least 2 difficult positions and a difficult transition. I guess the exiting jump wasn't high enough and there wasn't enough increase of speed in the transition (which it seemed she was going for). The levels are very strict this season. This time it was fair but Nats was not.

In the senior pairs event, which of the teams wouldn't be age eligible for international seniors right now?

(Like, in the senior womens event, you have skaters like Alisa Dvoeglazova competing who wouldn't yet be age eligible for international seniors. Which teams are the equivalents of that in the pairs event?)

Merenkova/Galimov, Khodykina/Butenko and Shcherbinina/Petrov.

I think Khodykina/Butenko would have competed in the junior category if they could but Butenko is too old for it (since the maximum junior age in Russia is lower than in international competitions right now).

Is tomorrow a public holiday in Russia?
Strange to put the singles free skates on monday.
