I understand they moved the schedule around because the Zamboni broke, and the venue was manually resurfacing the ice. Pairs was moved first in the day because the ice was most dangerous for them and for all skaters which caused the delays yesterday.

I’m surprised they actually moved forward with the event given the ice conditions today. I’m thankful all pairs came out safely from the event especially with lifts so that has to be stressful for the teams that competed.

I knew there were some issues during this event from the comments I had read, but didn't realise that they were as major as this.

By the sounds of things, the organisers have done a great job managing to work around all the problems they have come up against.

Given the circumstances they faced, sending the Pairs out first was a very wise decision. As you say, they need the best ice conditions, and this was the way to ensure they got them.

There are many people who would not have thought of re-arranging things, and seen abandoning the event as the only option. So well done to the organisers for having the foresight to take this alternative route, thus enabling the event to continue!

An amazing skate for Zhang/Huang! I wonder if they are still in the running for that one Olympic spot. We'll have to see how Sui/Han do on their first outing.

For now, China has zero pairs spots for the Olympics, they'll have to earn one first at the Olympic Qualifier.
The most bitter option for Z/H would be for them to earn the Olympic spot and then for S/H to be sent to the Olympics.

Wonder if S/H will show up at the 5th stage of the Chinese Interclub League, or even anywhere before their GPs/Olympic qualifier.

It didn't work out for Yihe like he wanted it to, but what an ambitious layout with two 3As and a 3Lz+3Lo. His air position is a bit wild at points, which is impacting his landings. Spins are not that bad for a Junior man. but would benefit from a little more work as well, but there is potential here, at least in terms of technical content.

I would not be surprised if Hiro comes as a big surprise for many when he makes his JGP debut. Nice start to the season for him with a gold medal here.

Oh, I love this program for Dias. The Choreo sequence is gorgeous, and his jumps were so good today for the most part (he popped one or two jumps).

Kwang Bom Han has a gorgeous 4T. Truly gorgeous. The attempted technical content was so high, and he landed all of his most difficult jumps - 4T+2T, 4T, 3A+2A+2A and 3A. He also took a tumble on a popped 3Lz and popped his 3F into a single, but I'm still blown away by the other jumping passes.
