2025 European Championships Gala

I very quickly skimmed through the replay. Galas usually aren't my thing, but Conti/Macii are worth watching. Niccolo's deadpan expression makes it even better

Conto/Macii and Niina were my highlights. Sara and Nico should keep that gala for next season too

Galas aren't really my thing, the problem with novelty programmes is, they are only novel the first time you see them. And even then, some are a bit cringe. Only a few skaters pull them off, and in general, I prefer the less gimmicky gala programmes. I'm prepared to make exceptions.

But I'm watching this to keep the feeling of holiday going after our Tallinn trip.

We watched the first half the other night, and still have the second half to go. No real exceptions to my rule so far!

I managed to watch this one - I hope they'll keep it for long. Maybe alter some features in future, but keep the program please

Me too not so fan of galas. The competition programs have more exitement. For example ISU wanted D/S to gala because of entertainment value. Well, those chipsmunks are fun just once. But there is nothing watchable on that program. They do few dance moves, rest of the time they just wave hands. Boring. But there have been some progmas which are watchable several times. Lukas's program is one and Javi's aerobic was something I never got bored to. Having funny costumes without doing hardly anything is not entertaining. And best is if there is different kind of programs in balance.

I suppose it's aimed at the local crowd going just once, and a bit "something for everyone", including kids. But even so, I really don't like the chipmunk rubbish, and I'm not even particularly critical of that team, in general.

I got really bored of Javi's aerobics programme, though I was an out-and-out fan of his. It was funny the first couple of times.

Well, I'm considering going to the Sheffield gala next year, because it'd be easy to schedule, and maybe being there with the lights and excitement would be different. So I won't watch any more galas from now until then, so at least I get the novelty value!
