Shame about the combo, but that might be one of the better skates I've seen Eve do. She's become a young woman, with a certain maturity and purposefulness in her movement and interpretation.

Aww, her coach in the back, nervously praying during the first spin Beautiful JGP debut.

Of course, there are always areas of improvement (in her case, probably the refinement of her jumping passes), but Rachel is just such a unique skater, flexible, so emotive and creative, and still very young. She was not even supposed to move up to Juniors already, but she does not look out of place at all (she was skating in Intermediates last season and intended to compete in Novices this season).

I was just about to say "second", but then I checked and it is her first. And I couldn't understand it, because I knew I had seen her before, and had commented about her on here. But, I just checked, and it was at the Robin Cousins Cup that I saw her.

This is what I wrote about Rachel's SP in August. And I still stand by every word:

"Love Story" programmes always get me. When I was a kid, I had a music box mechanism that played "Where Do I Begin?" (just the mechanism, mind you). So the song has a personal meaning for me.

Everything about that was beautiful. The music. The back dress. And the skating.

Never came across Rachel SAMIRI (USA) before.

My goodness, seeing her waiting for her scores, she looks so much like my kid that is coming up in the next group, Marilena Kitromilis.

Rachel wins the Short Programme.

I'm scared. I getting tempted to adopt an American skater.

That is two programmes I really enjoyed from Rachel SAMIRI (USA).

She was wearing a beautiful black and gold dress, with black tights. And the music was beautiful.

Unfortunately, there were issues with the skating. She had a couple of falls, as well as some other issues..

But when she gets everything clean, this is going to be such an impressive programme

She goes into 2nd position overall.

But, no. I couldn't do her justice. It's too hard to keep up with American competitions.

Getting back to Zhasmin.

Ah, Mark did mention her busy schedule.

Still can't get used to the sultry choreography at the start.

Beautiful Triple Loop as first element.

Combination jump beautiful too.

Double Axel beautiful too.

Got a bit wonkey on the Combination Spin.

Love her Step Sequence.

Flying Sit Spin beautiful.

And so was the final Layback Spin.

Mark surprised by her now signature cartwheel while taking her bows.

Oooh, her companion is wearing a very beautiful coat.

Zhasmin looks very serious waiting for her scores. She is not playfully flirting with the camera like the past couple of weeks.

Awww. Playing with her cuddly camel.

She goes into 6th poisition.

Awwww. She is making the camel applaud!

Great effort Hayden Isabel!!! 2 falls but she never gave up. Well done landing that 2A near the end of the program. Lovely dress too!

She's adorable. They are explaining why she's alone there, and I'm really happy that they are giving the kids those camels, it clearly makes them happy.

Is it any wonder there was so much red?

But, that doesn't matter. The fact that she was able to skate at all after all that is a massive achievement.

You know, she was actually good.

I know it can't be helped that her team-mate is next. But it would have been nice for somebody to sit with her. If only to provide a shoulder to rest her head on. She deserves a rest!

She goes into 12th position.
