Somehow big mistakes today unusual for dancers.

Not really, considering the circumstances.
Junior dancers are much more mistake-prone than Seniors (Ice Dance is hard, people) and a lot of these teams have no JGP experience. Some are freshly out of Novices, others were mid-tier (or lower) teams domestically in the past who are only now getting these opportunities due to other teams aging out or splitting, even others are new as a team or completely new to dance as a discipline.

I thought I heard traces of the "Macarena" during the first section, but convinced myself that I was imagining things.

Then the familiar music started to come through!

Now, THIS is the 90's!

This was more like what I was expecting from the French partnership. Something out there. Perhaps it is no coincidence that Aurea is French.

I am feeling pretty good about putting this team in my predictions. I really like their skating skills and this program works for them. First JGP appearance is a good one.

Mind you, it was hard to take my eyes off Lea. She is stunning! Thank goodness she is old enough to eye up!

Their skating wasn't bad, either.

They are not as fast as the other French team, but that allowed them to be in greater control and get through this cleanly and with good quality.
