Team Finland as expected, according to the rules:

Women: Iida Karhunen, Venla Sinisalo
Subsitutes Annika Pellonmaa, Karina Innos, Darja Trubitson

Men: Matias Lindfors
subsitute Arttu Juusola

None of the id pairs got the minimums.

So looks Matias is ok anyway though he is not listed to any other competions. But looks Lotta Artimo is injured as she should have been an alternative instead of Darja based on the fed's rules.

Eight groups in both men and women 😮 Those minimums are definitely going up next year.
Last year had 41 men and 46 women, so it's two more entries this year for each. Since JGP spots are determined by placement, I don't think they'll raise them much if they do. They want to have participants in them to help develop at the Junior level.

25-30 place get 1 entry in 4 events
31 and lower get 1 entry in 3 events
No entries gets 1 entry in 2 events

Federations are encouraged to send a skater, even if they aren't likely to qualify for the free skate.

Ice Dance is the only category that has fewer entries compared to last year (25 for 2025, 31 in 2024.) If they do adjust minimums, I'd look at that one.

Yeah, you’re right, I forgot for a moment that the junior field rules are so different. 🤣

ugh at the Georgians for showing up this year when they have exclusively been doing senior events, and won last year. That should be illegal.
It also means that other nations, who do have better depth in pairs may get less spots for next year JGPs or JWC considering they will definitely take first place.

It's very hard to remain nice about this one. I will just scream out loud how I feel, so only my next door neighbours hear it and that way, I will preserve the decency of this post.

Yes. In only Finland there are 8 who have the minimums and they would have more on the list if some skaters would have chosen juniors but they skate only in seniors. I think in big feds there are mass of those.

IMO ISU could have the same rule as JGP/GP. If you go to JWC, you are not allowed to take part in WC. It would be harsh for some small feds, but I think this would be a good rule anyway. Georgians go there because they can and they probably are prepared to win. 23 years old and 13 years old do not belong to same competition and the decision and the reason is hard to understand.

Luka Berulava answered why they were doing it in their mixed zone interview:
Luka: “Well, the answer is actually short. We want to compete. We want to use the opportunity to compete. The ISU rules allow us to compete, so we want to grab the chance to gain experience and earn world standing points. That’s why we’re doing it. The rules allow it.”
They wouldn't actually gain any world standing points by doing it for their Senior standings. The Europeans bronze is more than the Junior Worlds gold. It would only help their Junior standings since only Junior competitions count for those. That only helps if they're planning on competing in it again next season, on top of Europeans, the Olympics and Worlds (they'll be eligible for one more season after this one.)

I understand why the ISU raised the age limit, to help teams have a longer time to develop before moving up to senior. But teams who medal at Europeans and Senior GPF shouldn't need Junior Worlds to get more experience. They just look silly competing against children.

They don't want world standing points. They want prize money

🇨🇿Jakub Tykal has replaced Tadeas Vaclavik in Men
oh... Vlaclavik was among the favourites (or am I confusing him with someone else)... so that's tough news

Ok.. well... I had the feeling the flag wasn't the good one for the Vaclavik I was thinking about... and yeah... he is safe. Two Vaclaviks.. one w/d but the one who did well at JGP is still skating..
