Sarah was much better, Alysa gets world champion treatment.

A skater can't be good if I turn them off before the program ends. She lacks flexibility and fluidity. As for Liu, she wasn't overscored if she got whacked -2.11 GOE for an underrotated jump in a combo - as she should have. It was that easy to see.

Knowing in hindsight that Alysa is battling boot problems (info from Goldsk8 Instagram), it was gutsy of her to still go for her new combo 3L+3R, and in the bonus no less! And very kind of Ilia's dad for helping her with her boot issues!

The judges hit Alysa hard for the mistake on the combo. I think I saw -4s in the protocols. Alysa mentioned not to expect too much for the FS because of her boot dilemma. I'd much prefer that she waters down than risk injury in the FS.

Matsuike’s skating skills are on full display here. Still this program is better as a long.

I totally agree. If I had my way I would keep this program (and the new dress) for the long and change the Nutcracker to a short program with some "powerful" music pieces. I feel like the Nutcracker as a long was too "drawn out" and the shorter version of Lux Aeterna lost some of the "magic" that makes it so wonderful. But what do I know .
